When the concrete guy had the trackhoe thing here, Vince had him dig two holes for planting trees – one on each side of the driveway. We had a crepe myrtle that had been pulled out of where they were pouring concrete so Vince stuck it in one of the holes just to see if it would live. We need to get another crepe myrtle for the other side of the driveway if that one lives but those two spots are where I had wanted to put cherry trees. I hope the crepe myrtle we transplanted survives but, if not, I’m getting cherry trees!
Yesterday, I’m not sure why because we don’t have anything to plant in the second hole, but Vince went through and picked out all the rocks.
Look at all those rocks! That is from this one hole and it isn’t a huge hole!
We thought we had a lot of rocks in Texas but we had to dig through about a 2″ layer of limestone, then we got to good dirt. This ground is full of rocks! It’s a good thing we decided to have raised beds for the garden. Can you imagine what tilling up for a garden would have been like?
