This piece was hard to choose a fabric that worked well and maybe I didn’t. This one has not been stitched yet and what’s on the chart is a drawing. It was only for the Patreon group but Teresa Kogut is releasing some of the charts to sell at the Nashville Market, which I believe is scheduled for March, 2022.
I’m doing model stitching for this one and Teresa wants us to use the called for floss. Even when something has been stitched, the chances of us finding the exact same linen are slim to none. I had out probably 20 pieces of linen trying to find one where the lady’s dress, the man’s pants and the leaves/hill would show up. Teresa wants us to keep everything “prim” so that’s what I was avoiding the white or white-ish linens.
I thought the Legacy would work but the leaves blended horribly. I couldn’t even see them standing right over them. If I go morer than, here dress isn’t going to show up. If I go more brown, his pants aren’t going to show up.
I ripped them both out and stitched them with a bit darker green but that wasn’t enough . . they still didn’t show up.
I’m waiting to hear if Teresa is ok with this color change or if she wants me to stitch the leaves in the original green and have them not show up or if she wants me to go with the whiter linen.
I’ll hold off stitching any more leaves til I hear from her. On second thought, I probably should not do any more stitching on this til I hear back from her in case I need to switch linens.
