Cat-O-Lantern Finished

I think this is so cute and am glad to finish it. I’ll probably make it into a pillow for Addie on Tuesday.

Addie wants orange trim around the pillow. I may have to use pom poms or I may try my hand at braiding floss. I’m afraid Addie will play with the pom poms or the braid and mess it up. I’d like to use eyelass trim or chenille but I think all I have in those are black. We’ll see.

That’s the chart I used. I love Misty Pursel’s designs. I used all the called for colors and you can see that the mouse on the chart is darker than my mouse – that’s the way it is with overdyes. The eyes on Misty’s chart are brighter green than mine. That’s DMC so there shouldn’t be that much difference. I might re-stitch the eyes before making the pillow.

    • I keep thinking that but there are so many I want to stitch, I’m not sure I would enjoy stitching the same one twice. But . . maybe.

    • I think she will love it but I also think she’ll love that she asked for it, I stopped what I was doing and made it for her.

  8. Judy, google Kreinik Custom Corder. There are YouTube videos showing how to make custom cording using embroidery floss. Its pretty slick.

  9. You do very nice work and this one is sentimental so it means so much more. Will you put a label on it for the good memories in years to come? Can you imagine Addie telling her children one day that her granny made it just for her?
