Yesterday – two trips to Walmart but you probably already read about those. I did some cross stitching. Not as much as I had hoped. Did more cleaning and organizing in the house that I had planned to do.
Additions:
Colorado Cross Stitcher got in a bit of new fabric so I ordered a couple of pieces. I’m on an “anything but tan” search. There are quite a few charts I want to make that need fabric that’s either a bit greenish or pinkish or blue-ish so I’ve been looking for those and Sheri had a couple so I got them. These days, you never know when you’ll find fabric again.
Cooking:
We laughed yesterday becaues how long have I wanted a gas stove?? And I was out cooking on the hot plate. We moved everything off the deck as it will soon get dismantled and re-built so Vince drug the table around to the driveway, stuck some wood strips under the legs and I cooked on the hot plate because it was a splattery dish I was cooking.
I had taken out a package of thin sliced ribeye steak so I first browned some chunks of butternut squash, jalapeno peppers added some onions. Took all that out of the skillet and added the thin sliced beef that I had seasoned with Cajun Redhead, salt and pepper. Added the squash mixture back and added a bit of soy sauce. We had that with a salad and it was really good.
Videos I Watched:
There was a live video on Patreon with Teresa Kogut. I’ll write more about that later.
Stitching:
A little stitching on Addie’s pumpkin.
Plans for Today:
I ended up placing an order from Walmart because they had quart canning jars. I’m going to start canning some of the meat that’s in the freezer. I wouldn’t mind having a dozen jars of canned homemade chili and beef stew in the freezer pantry .. not the freezer! Those things are easy to heat up if the power is out or just good on a cold wintery day.
I will get some stitching done. I hope I will not be going anywhere!

I got my CCS delivery on Wednesday, pretty quick, it would have been faster if I had gone up to the mailbox that day lol. Now I can start the punch needle project, my first one.

My light box arrived yesterday so I’ll be starting probably as soon as I finish Addie’s pumpkin.

Did I read this post correctly, that you are planning to can meat and then put it in the freezer?? I once tried to freeze milk in canning jars, left air space at the top, put in the freezer side of the side-by-side. It was there about two weeks. I took one out and set it in the sink to thaw. Bottom of the jar broke off. Both of the jars were broken. I don’t put canning jars in the freezer anymore. Freezer jam can go into the fridge side. Just finished off some peach freezer jam, delicious!

You read it correctly. I typed it incorrectly. Sorry. Not planning to freeze the jars. I do not freeze in jars but on the rare occasions when I’ve done it, I leave about 2″ at the top, only use wide mouth jars because of the “shoulder” and leave the lid off til it’s completely frozen.
