Yesterday was another day of working guys working on projects outside.
I love storms that aren’t scary and had so hoped we’d have a good thunderstorm after our concrete was to the point that it wouldn’t be damaged but we may have had 10 drops of rain, a little thunder off in the distance and that’s it. I think we have a chance of thunderstorms for several days so maybe I’ll get to see a decent thunderstorm.
Vince had to run to Lowe’s to try to get PVC pipe that the concrete guy wanted to put under part of the concrete for a gutter drain pipe to go into so Vince went to get it. No PVC pipe. That’s in short supply. He went to several places and ended up getting connections to put together two shorter pieces he had here at the house. Does anyone want to guess what’s the next thing that will be in short supply?
PLEASE . . if you order gifts for Christmas, order them today!! Between short supplies and shipping slowdowns, please don’t disappoint those on your gift list and don’t disappoint yourself by trying to find something that wasn’t what you really wanted to give because you can’t get what you wanted to give.
We’re already looking for two small turkeys to fry. So far, they aren’t in the stores. I have no idea when turkeys normally start appearing in the stores but we’re on the hunt for two little ones.
Last night Vince must have gotten up four times . . maybe five. Most of the time that doesn’t wake me but last night it did . . every time. And it was one of those nights I heard every creak and every leaf fall and I was scared so, I didn’t sleep a lot. I should have taken a nap but by 8:30, I was ready for bed. I managed to stay up til 10 but that last 1-1/2 hours, I was worthless. I did sleep like a rock last night. I love waking up and realizing I slept through the night, wasn’t scared and didn’t hear anything.
Additions:
I had ordered a small piece of 25 count lugana, color – potato a while back. I wanted to try stitching one strand over one thread. I liked it and there are several big projects I want to do on that fabric. That will effectively be 50 count fabric so I ordered a full yard of that.
Cooking:
Leftover pizza casserole and I made coleslaw.
Videos I Watched:
Stitching with the Housewives – Sewing Stitch
Salt Box Stitcher #24 – The title is “Stitching in Hand – Sewing Method”. After 1 hour, 12 minutes, the video of stitching in hand started. So, if you want to see that, scoot on over to 1:12. It was probably 5 minutes of video.
Stitching:
I stitched on Cat-O-Lantern and made some progress but the best news is I think I’ve mastered the sewing stitch.
Plans for Today:
Goodness . . it’s Friday. Don’t know if the contractors will be here. Don’t know what Vince has planned for the day. Don’t even know for sure what I’m cooking. We’re out of leftovers. I’d love to grill steaks but I don’t even know if there are any in the freezer. I need to go see. I’m sure once I open the freezer and see what’s in there, something will sound good.
I’ll stitch. There’s a chance I could finish Cat-O-Lantern. I want to make it and Harvest Tina into pillows.
Teresa Kogut’s charts for patreon members should be releaed today. We have an online meeting with her today to see if anyone wants to stitch some of her samples for market which I think is in March, 2022. I doubt I will because . . I’m slow and easily distracted and hate going to the post office (assuming she wants us to mail her the finished piece and not just send pictures).
Hope you all have a great Friday.

The product shortage I encountered yesterday – Honey Nut Cheerios. Not a box in the store!! There were plenty of other Cheerios flavors and other cereals. Seems so random. But we’ll survive!

There seems to be no rhyme or reason for so much of it but I think in the past year, we’ve come to accept that we’ll find some things in the store and some things we won’t. It’s good that you’ll survive. 🙂
These days, when I place a grocery order and get most everything I ordered, I’m surprised and that seems weird.

I frequently do that, open the top of the freezer and stare to see what is going to tell me it’s is for dinner tonight!

Another thing about ordering gifts now is the fact that the post office says they are going to slow delivery of some items. Don’t know which ones or why. I know the postage went up today as well.

I didn’t even know the postage went up. Mostly what we order comes from Amazon or Walmart and often isn’t delivered by the post office. I try to buy as many cross stitching charts in pdf format which is instant download but there are a few things that still come through the USPS.
