My husband can be the most helpful, generous, agreeable human alive but he can also be the most aggravating human. I know he says the same thing about me except I’m probably not so helpful, generous and agreeable but I can cook! 🙂
This morning he couldn’t wait to go to town. I knew it was going to happen and I was impatiently waiting for him to say “I think I’m going to run to town. Do you want to go?” He didn’t want me to go but he didn’t want to say “I’m going to town .. see ya later!”
Sure enough, not long after breakfast, he said “I think I’m going to go to town. I want to go to the flea market. Do you want to go?” He threw in the flea market stop just to be sure I said no! 🙂
He left. I turned my music on loud, gathered up a load of laundry, got it going. Folded the load from earlier. Put it all away. Decided to re-arrange the drawers in my dresser.
I sat down and took maybe five stitches. Sitting here – no bra; no makeup, hair not fixed . . not only not fixed but I went to bed with wet hair last night so you know what it looked like. I hear the garage door open and I’m thinking . . What? He hadn’t been gone long enough to do anything.
Vince: Come go with me to Walmart. They have a set of outside furniture on sale.
Me: Vince! I don’t want to go to town. I’m not even dressed.
Vince: You look fine. Come look at it.
Me: Vince! If you like it, just get it. You’re the picky one. I’d be happy with whatever it is.
Vince: No! I want you to see it.
Me: Why didn’t you take a picture and send it to me?
I totally already knew the answer. He NEVER has his phone. IF he happens to have it, the battery is dead. Multiple times, he’s asked someone in a store with a phone to call me or send me a picture of something.
Got dressed! Used the curling iron a bit. Went with him to Walmart ONLY because I desperately have been wanting outdoor furniture and knew I’d take whatever he was willing to buy. It was half price. He didn’t care if it was comfortable or not; pink, lime green or paisley print! It was on sale and we were getting it.
We bought several things. The little pickup was loaded to the gills. The lady working at Walmart said “I hope you don’t have to go far!” We made it home, got it unloaded but we can’t set it up til the deck is refinished. Grrrr!!
Now he’s gone back to town so he can walk up and down the aisles of every store and the flea market.

And then there is my husband he wouldn’t shop if his life depended on it.

He wanted to make sure you liked it.

I am not picky about anything like that. If he brings it home, I’m good with it.

Dear Lord I am so grateful to be married to someone who dislikes shopping as much as I do.
I hope that scored you some Good Wife Points!

So nice to have a spouse you understand and can predict. =)

You need to take a picture of it once you get it set up. I am glad you got some outdoor furniture!

It will be a while – probably like spring, because all the deck boards are being removed and then it will have to be re-stained. Not sure how long that will take but I hate to miss fall being able to sit on the deck.

All that walking up and down every aisle, then the flea market…at least he’s getting in his exercise!! lol. Congrats on the new outdoor furniture!

He is and he’s been following the guys around who are working on our new projects so when Vince comes in at 5:00, he’s exhausted.
