This morning when I got up and started stitching, the sewing stitch came natural. Not sure if it was the videos, or chatting with Jo and then practicing last night but this morning, everything worked.
Can you believe how much progress I’ve made? I didn’t get rid of the spider legs but the sailor hat now looks like a kitty. I’ve started the mouse.
I do think I can finish this today.

Congrats on getting that stitch working. I checked out the video and it seems very natural and faster to work. I bet you’ll be looking at all your charts with this method in mind!
I like how you do your borders initially as a single stitch, except for the 10th stitch which you complete the cross stitch. It seems faster than doing the basting stitch grid for counting purposes. Are you going to change the way you do borders? Just curious…

I think my stitches actually look better using the “seek and poke” method but I’m sur eit just takes time.
The border method is so much faster with the 10th stitch done as a full stitch rather than using a grid. I can still do half stitches using the sewing method so no, I’ll keep doing them the way I’ve been doing them.
