This little rascal is so cute. I wish I never had to sleep. I could just cross stitch all night! Here’s my progress as of quitting time last night.
Since I’m stitching this in hand, when I get finished working on it, it’s always wrinkled and I’m too lazy to go press it before taking a picture because it will just get wrinkled again.
To me, it looks like a pumpkin with a pointed chin and two legs coming out the right side of his head . . kinda like a spider.
The more I stitch, the better he will look.
The Persimmon floss arrived yesterday and here are the three skeins: Persimmon top, Fragrant Cloves in the middle and the DMC substitute for Persimmon on the bottom.
I kinda think I would have had better contrast if I had stuck with the DMC instead of Persimmon. I was expecting more variegation in the Persimmon. It’s fine though. Addie will love it and as I stitch more, I may see more variation in the oranges.
Those overdyed flosses vary so much from dye lot to dye lot. Sometimes they don’t even look like the same color so whatever was used for the sample isn’t exactly like what I’m using. But, Addie will love it and that’s what matters.

This would look cute with Addy’s pillow.

I love reading about your new house, cooking, gardening, Addie, but have only sketchily followed your cross stitching, until I got the idea of buying my granddaughter a little hoop and some Aida cloth because she is really getting into crafting (see, you are an enabler :)) I wondered if you could recommend a good “how to” website for her to learn, and maybe some simple patterns for her? I wondered if you had found something like this for Addie? My granddaughter is 8 years.

I haven’t found any websites but I’m sure there are some out there. Mostly Addie just watches me. She just turned 9 but has the attention span of a gnat. She will make 2 stitches and say “I’m done for now.” Addie did stick with the diamond painting (not needle related) and I think she’ll like punch needle but so far, cross stitching hasn’t really stuck with her.
