I am the person who should never give advice on cleaning, nor should I give directions. After a year of living here, I still cannot figure out how the storage room is where it is in the basement and when upstairs, I can’t grasp that the sewing room is below the master bedroom.
But, here’s my cleaning tip. For years I’ve heard about Norwex cleaning clothes. Our windows in Texas got so dirty and I kept thinking about ordering one for there but never did. Here, the road in front of our house has degraded to the point of being a dirt road so our windows get pretty dirty. A friend mentioned using a Norwex cloth the other day so I ordered one. This morning, I cleaned the transom glass over the front door, the three dining room windows and the 12 little windows in the garage. No window cleaner, just a damp Norwex cloth. No paper towels to pick up off the ground and throw away. No window cleaner to fall off the ladder and spill. Just a wet cloth. We have a hot water faucet outside so I was able to use that to keep rinsing the cloth.
I did all those windows in the amount of time it would have taken me to do one window if using window cleaner and paper towels. There are no streaks. Nothing left behind except sparkly clean windows.
From my chair, I look out the transom window at the flag, the trees, the sky . . my world is much brighter today! 🙂
I would never have believed how easy and effective this little cloth is.
Here’s a funny story. When the cloth first arrived a month or so ago, I cleaned the mirroris in the bathrooms. They weren’t terribly dirty like my windows were so I wasn’t as impressed with them. I wasn’t disappointed .. I just wasn’t singing their praises. Anyway, I rinsed the cloth and hung it over the shower in Addie’s bathroom. Then I got ready to clean the windows a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t find the cloth. I searched. Nope .. it was gone! My first thought was that Vince found it and thought . . what a nice thick cloth for wiping up greasy messes!
Before Addie got here Saturday, I cleaned her bathroom. She’s the only one who uses that shower and . . there was my Norwex cloth so today, some of the windows were cleaned. There are guys here working on the deck so I won’t mess with those windows til they’re completely done back there.

I just looked it up–looked nice–til I saw it was microfiber–I hate the way that stuff feels on my hands. I have had many hoping I would like them–give me a plain ole rag. Guess I’m old fashioned about that. Or something.

Hi
the one job i loathe is cleaning windows until i bought a Karcher window cleaner, wet cloth wiped over the window and hit the Karcher button and you sweep from top to bottom with the rubber edge and it vacuums the residue off, me being a fussy one, use a paper towel and wipe around the edges , within minutes shiny windows. I can do all the ground floor in 20 minutes, its brilliant on mirrors and pictures! Maybe , just maybe this would suit you rather than the feel of micro fibre.

Which one do you have? Maybe Judy can link it.

Hi, sorry for the delay I had to go on Amazon.com as its completely different from amazon.co.uk.
When looking on your site its the yellow WV1 plus, but the price, yikes! Looking through them the pink and white copy would do the exact job for a lost less. I’m not sure how to link Judy into this , so I’m hoping she will be able to see my reply.

I’m not terribly opposed to microfiber but this one feels different. It’s more squishy and not “squeaky”.

I’ve used Norwex products for a few years now and love them. I get mine from a lady in Indianapolis, and my daughters and myself have all had parties (like Tupperware) on Facebook. The microfiber is imbedded with silver, which cleans away bacteria. My sales person actually cleans a plate with raw chicken on it, then licks the plate to show how safe the cloth makes it. I sure wouldn’t do that!! I use my Norwex cloth to clean lots of things. I also use their dishwashing cloth for my dishes, a body cloth for my shower (no soap needed!! – just a wet cloth) and the laundry powder for my clothes.
Of course, they’re made in China, which means China has already stolen the proprietary information to make cheaper versions. They do that with everything they make… I am blessed that I’m able to afford the Norwex brand items (I don’t buy too many) – they are expensive, but if possible, I’d rather buy the brand name than a Chinese knock-off because they require all manufacturers to give up all proprietary information. That’s how China manages to make everything cheaper – they’ve got everybody’s secrets…and all our big manufacturers just give it up to them. Makes no sense to me. Sorry about going off on my soapbox. I just don’t like how China does business, and all the idiot CEO’s from America that don’t think ahead to what they’re causing in the long run. It’s all about making a buck for themselves, with no thought to the future of our country.

I am not knocking Norwex products in any way. Personally I can’t justify spending the amount they sell for.
I am very pleased with a similar window cleaning system that is a bit more economical and frequently has sales offered. Google or check Amazon for e-cloths for windows. I have a couple sets myself and have gifted several sets to friends.

I didn’t think $16 was bad but I didn’t check around. I’ll check out the e-cloths for windows. Thanks.

Hi Judy. I use a lot of the Norwegian products. My daughter sells it and got me hooked. The stainless steel cloth is wonderful to clean stainless steel appliances, but my favourite is the counter cloths. I use only one roll of paper towels every 2 months instead of a roll a week. The laundry soap also removes the nasty smells and germs from laundry.

Thanks! I’ll try those.
