This really is the next project because I’ve started it already! It’s funny, at least to me, how the decision was made.
You know I’m wanting to make a pillow. The cardinal is going to get framed. I got out the Halloween magazine that had a lot of smalls in it but nothing jumped out at me. I had decided to give up on making a pillow and find something easy to stitch but yet something I loved. Addie started looking at the charts with me. She would pretend to be excited about almost every one I showed her. She was reading and not really paying attention but if I’d say “Look at this one!”, she would ooh and ahh over it but I could tell she was just exhibiting the trait she inherited from her dad . . pretend I care about what you’re doing when I really do not.
I showed her Cat-O-Lantern by Luminous Fiber Arts. She did her fake “I love it!” and kept reading. I had gone downstairs to do something and after a while, she came down there with this chart in her hand and said “Granny, could you make this for me?” I said, of course I could. She said “Can you make it before I go home?” I told her it was doubtful but I could try and if I couldn’t get it done, I could either mail it to her or run down one day, take her out to eat and give it to her then. I will probably go to one of her games because I think she only has three left so I could bring it to her then.
I had all the called for floss except one. The light orange is what I was going to substitute for Weeks Dye Works Persimmon but then when I looked at Persimmon online, it was actually darker than the other orange (Fragrant Cloves) so I pulled out a couple of other deeper rusty oranges but I’ll probably end up using the DMC color suggestion.
The above photo shows the two oranges together.
Once I had all the floss out, Addie said “Could you make it into a little pillow to decorate my room?” Well, yes, I think I can make it into a little pillow. I told her I’d been looking for the last couple of hours for a project I could make into a pillow so it was perfect for both of us.

You could try out your cording gizmo to make the cording. I haven’t tried mine yet.

I thought about that but knowing Addie, she’d probably mess with it so much trying to figure it out. She and I are going to make so me bracelets with it once I figure out how to use it. Obviously I haven’t used mine yet either.

This is so cute, and a nice change up from “sampler” style projects.
