Yesterday was a good day . . not much going on. I didn’t leave the house. I did fix our main meal, which is about the only meal I’m cooking each day. It was cool here the last couple of days but will gradually get back up to near 90 for about a week before it starts cooling down again.
I got the freeze dryer filled up again – tomatoes, okra, bell peppers and jalapeno peppers.
Additions:
It was Denise’s fault! Actually it was Denise’s fault x 2! When I originally went to Colorado Cross Stitcher to look, they had two pages of charts. Then Denise told me there were five pages of charts. Yesterday she told me there were now nine pages of charts. Here’s what I added:
Mychal’s Prayer – I saw this around 9/11 and wanted it but it was out of stock everywhere I looked.
Merry Christmas by Blackbird Designs.
She Seeketh Sampler by The Sampler Company.
A Merry Little Christmas by Stitching With The Housewives – I want to use a different background and stitch the truck the same color as Chad’s old pickup and give this to them.
Cooking:
Yes – I smoked a chicken, cooked okra and green beans.
Videos I Watched:
I watched a few but they were mostly current events type youtubes.
Stitching:
Still working on the cardinal.
Plans for Today:
I placed a grocery order to pick up this morning. I thought . . quick trip, be back in no time but Vince said he needs to go to Aldi and Natural Grocer so he’ll go with me. He thinks I need to get my flu shot. I feel like if Vince would stay home more, and I rarely go out, I would not need the flu vaccine but then there’s Addie, Chad and Nicole that I try to see as often as possible to I’ll say a prayer and get it I guess.
Then I’ll probably come home and say I should take it easy and not cook! 🙂
I have some things on Addie’s bed and I need to get that all cleaned up. They’re coming here Saturday morning to get the electric stove, then they have to go home for Addie’s game, then I’ll meet them halfway and get her. She’s out of school Monday so she wants to stay here. I’ll take her home Monday evening. It’s been ages since I’ve spent any amount of time with her since she has cheerleading every weekend. She told me they cheer at basketball games too. I’m glad she’s loving it but it surely cuts into my time with her. Of course . . she’s doing what girls her age need to do and I suppose I’m doing what grannies do . . wish for more time with the grandkids.
At least I’m not 10 hours away any more.

Hi
Love the prayer sampler and adore She Seeketh Sample, Oh dear just when i was trying to be good !!!
Unfortunately I’m one of the ones who HAS to have the flu jab (all booked in) and the Covid Booster. I was so hoping the 2 Covid vaccines I have had would be enough. Looks like they are going down the road of Flu & Booster to be an annual event here in the UK for the clinically extremely vulnerable. Just hate that label, but with hubby being a teacher its better to be safe than sorry.

Even with 2 vaccines I got covid but a really mild case. Kept me in bed 3 days then quarantined the 10 days. Got my flu shot 2 days ago. No problems. Will call doctor about booster since I just am recovering from covid. 3 weeks later I still can’t smell and taste is iffy. I have stopped buying crossstitch patterns I can’t keep up and having all that sitting there taunting me gives me nerves. I still quilt and am doing the same there.

Glad you are doing better. It took Vince probably three months to fully get back his taste and smell.

LOL – I’ll accept that blame. 🙂 There are several more charts I really want but so far I’m maintaining control and am waiting to place another order in the hopes that more Aida fabric will be added in the not too distant future. Anxiously awaiting the my initial order which should arrive tomorrow.

I was kinda hoping something would arrive today but it didn’t. I did have to place an order because a punch needle pattern arrived today and I wanted floss to make it.

Can I blame Denise too? lol I went to their site after she mentioned going and started off with 6 charts in my bag and I think I took out 2 and ended up with 4. Tracker says they’ll be here Tuesday. I found a great local store yesterday and they have all kinds of things. They helped me find a fabric that will work for my next project (Teresa Kogut’s Fox and friend) and then I bought various brands of needles to try and several more patterns. I’ll be going back there for sure to find fabric and floss (they carry all kinds) for upcoming projects if I need more.

I got my flu shot today. My husband got his too. He wasn’t buying that my arm was sore so I couldn’t cook.

Men! We went to Walmart to do a grocery pickup and Vince said “Let’s go in and get your shot!” We got out of the car and I said “I can’t – I forgot to bring my wallet with ID and insurance card!” so . . for today, I’m off the hook. I’m sure I’ll get it next week.

I believe the flu shots are good for us in the older generation but I try to wait until later in October. I hope I have full effect during the colder months when we are in dryer weather and the air is coming through our heating systems. I haven’t formed a solid conclusion about the COVID-19 “booster”. I think it is coming but they just need to quit calling it a vaccine and prepare us to live with another virus by taking an annual shot. It’s offensive to be treated like we are too ignorant to understand therefore, we must do what they tell us to do.
OK, off to my quilting project. ?

Our doctor recommended getting them early this year. Vince already got his. I probably will wait at least til mid-October to get mine. I agree about the booster. Haven’t decided yet if I’ll get one. Right now, I say no but mine is Moderna and since that one has not been offered yet, I don’t have to think about it too much.
