The projects with just a few colors certainly go faster than those with bunches of color changes. Of course, the size helps too. This little cardinal may well be finished today and if it is, it will be the first time I ever guessed correctly at when I’d finish a project.
Here’s what can happen when I don’t do much of anything else around the house.
545 stitches. That could be a record for me for one day but, it mostly was because I did all the brown I could do, then did all the red but I’ll give myself a little credit . . maybe I’m getting better at this!
I started this project because I want to make a pillow but he’s so cute and I’ve decided where my cardinal wall would be and I think he would be a great first framed piece for a cardinal wall. Since he’s square, a little frame won’t cost much and I might even have one here so I think he might just get framed.
Now . . what can I stitch for my first pillow? 🙂
P.S. I think I have less than 200 stitches to get made today. I can do this!!

Hey Judy,
Go girl you can do it.

I think you are getting faster, muscle memory is a big factor. Remember how fast you can knit socks now, it wasn’t always that way :). Small projects help boost confidence too, I look at my Newcastle Bouquet and think I am never going to be done with it, and it can be daunting. I have a little pillow that I am stitching when I need a break from the “masterpieces”.

You’re so right! It took me weeks and weeks to make one sock in the beginning and I did get so much faster. I could almost knit two socks at once in a couple of days by the time I put the knitting away so I do hope I’m getting faster with the cross stitching.

Would Vince make picture frames for you in his new shop?

I asked and he said it was less expensive for me to buy them than for him to get all the stuff and make them. Should I come clean about the cost of frames?? 🙂
