I have been wanting a dough bowl, preferably an antique one, for many years and most especially since I’ve been cross stitching. Every time we find one that’s reasonable at a flea market, Vince says “I can make that!” Yes, he can. Just like I can make tops for myself but for four years, I’ve been wearing the same few tops because I never make them. I can’t fault Vince since I do the same thing but . .
I don’t even know how I saw it but Hobby Lobby had this dough bowl (definitely not an antique) on sale for $21, with free shipping if you spend $50. Who wouldn’t spend $29 more in order to save $7 shipping? 🙂
To get to $50, I ordered some fall decorations – little metal pumpkins and pinecones, fall ribbon, fall stickers for Addie. She used to love stickers but I’m betting she doesn’t so much anymore.
I also ordered this 8-1/2″ square board. I can paint it, distress it . . do something and put a cross stitched piece on it. I don’t know where I will hang it but I’ll find a place once I find something to stitch on it. I know, and you know exactly what Vince will say to this too. “I could have made that!” It was $3.99. He’ll have better things to make.
Anyway, I need to get to stitching on smalls to put in my dough bowl!
Here’s something funny. I saw a Stitching With The Housewives Halloween project . . I think I bought the chart, but they had it finished in a hanging basket that was kinda flat and it had witch legs on picks sticking out of the basket. Of course I ordered witch legs and the box from Michael’s has been sitting in the hallway for weeks. I crack up every time I think about what Vince will say if he happens to be the one to open that box and find two witch legs. I best get that box unpacked and the contents stuffed into Addie’s bedroom closet before he does find them.

If Vince sees you have ordered witch legs, you could just say “I could have made them, but…” That’s how it goes with artsy projects.
