How do you make your round steak with gravy? Mine is always tough not tender.

Cook it longer! Since I’m not using my stove for a few days, I’ll use the pressure cooker but I always cut the round steak up, season it, brown it in a little oil or bacon fat, remove the steak, add chopped onion, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper and garlic. Saute those, then add the steak back along with water, maybe a little beef bouillon, maybe a can of tomatoes – whatever I have handy. Put a lid on it and simmer it an hour or two hours – til it’s tender. Check often to be sure there’s plenty of liquid and things aren’t about to scorch. Remove the steak, make a slurry with cornstarch and cold water, pour that in to thicken the gravy, turn off the fire, put the steak back in and let it rest in the gravy for 10 or 15 minutes.
