Yesterday was a good day! I was up early, doing some stitching. Vince spent most of the day with a couple of friends. He got home around 3 and I fixed our salmon and sides. Before we were done eating, someone else showed up. I’m telling you .. most days I laugh thinking how different our life is here.
We did our Master Gardener classes last night, took our tests – actually Vince did his right after dinner and I was doing mine at 11 p.m.
Additions:
Several of my pre-orders from Needlework Expo arrived yesterday. I didn’t order anything. Cross stitching for me is a lot like knitting was. If I’m stitching, I’m not ordering. When I’m not stitching – either because I’m tired or I have other things going on, that’s when I’m drooling over new charts and fabric and placing orders. I need to keep a needle in my hand and stay off the computer.
Cooking:
I made salmon yesterday. I season it and sear it in butter in a skillet on the hot plate outside – lots of smoking and splattering. Once it’s done, which is pretty quickly, I take it out, let the skillet cool down a bit, add garlic, saute that, then add lemon juice and a bit of maple syrup. Yesterday I had pineapple juice in the fridge that was needing to be used so I added that, simmered it til it was a bit reduced, put the salmon back in and let it cook for a few minutes, then served the thickened “sauce” over the fish. Delicious!
Videos I Watched:
I started this one on Sunday so I don’t know if I posted it yesterday or not. I finished it this morning:
Little Yellow House Crafts – Goodbye Summer, Welcome Autumn
Stitching:
I made decent progress on Harvest Tina, though she won’t be finished today.
Plans for Today:
Not much on the agenda. Leftovers mostly for our meal. Stitching. Household chores. I meant to get the freeze dryer going again yesterday and never did so I’ll do that soon.
Still haven’t planted my mums but I think tomorrow the high is going to be 84 so maybe I’ll plant them tomorrow. I do have to cut okra today – every other day. I’m sure I’ll manage to do a little of this and a little of that and accomplish little. Seems to be what I do these days.

I keep waiting for my pre-orders but when I went back and looked it said October so guess I need to have patience. I’ve been doing a little extra ordering these days and finding fabric is hard….just as you mentioned. I did order some from an etsy shop Denise recommended but it won’t be here until October either!..lol. Oh well…not like I’m ready to go on another pattern. Still plugging along on A Changed World.

Not only is it hard to find, but at least for me, I think a color will work, then decide it doesn’t once it gets here so I have to wait more.
