The second project I kitted is Caroline Amelia Trowell by With Thy Needle and Thread. The photo below isn’t the entire chart, obviously but I took a closeup because I wanted to show you something.
I’m not criticizing the designer because she is amazing and one of my favorites but if you see the stairs coming down from the beige house, there’s what looks to be green steps but the tops of them are ecru and then to the left of the tree is a flower that same color. It’s actually a color that’s used quite a bit and it hardly shows up on the fabric used for the picture and on my fabric, it shows up even less so I’ll probably change that.
Again I’m using a conversion by Victoria Clayton. The threads are on the fabric I’ll probably use. See the three off the bottom? The lightest one is the one that was meant to be used. For the steps, I may use the gray. The chart has a lot of tans and browns so the gray may not work. I do see a blue there so maybe a very light blue might work. I’ll have to see about that. I think I’ll use that light peach for the flowers and maybe I’ll end up using it for everything that should have been stitched ecru.
Lots of possibilities and a long time before I’m going to start stitching.
This is also a 40 count fabric and again, I don’t remember the color. It may be XJu Baby Sheep.

When you kit projects, do you sometimes have to order multiples of one color thread?
The man’s bare legs are very curious…medieval looking!

The chart tells you how many skeins you’ll need of each color. When I’m using a conversion color scheme/floss, I have to trust the dyer to know how much floss I’ll need.
