Yesterday a lot of time was spent in the kitchen but I’m happy in there. Vince got the weather station set up and back online and I’m so happy to have that. I count on that little thing way more than I ever realized. I love seeing the temp and humidity inside and comparing it to the outside. I still think we have an a/c issue because of how high the humidity is staying inside but . . what do I know?
We kept thinking it was going to rain or storm but it never did. We do need a rain. I ended up having to water the garden.
Vince went to town and one of his stops was Lowe’s and he did get the white subway tile for the backsplash. When we had the granite countertops put on in Texas, he was determined that he was picking out the tile for the backsplash. We almost had words right in Home Depot because I did NOT like the tile he wanted to use. The countertop was pretty but it had a lot of brown in it. The tile he picked out had about four shades of brown in it. I wanted a tan subway tile – solid, glossy and clean looking but no, he got the tile he wanted. When we first started talking about the backsplash here and couldn’t get anyone to even call us back about installing it, I said “Vince! I know you can do this yourself.” He said “Ok. WE have to decide on a tile.” I said “No, WE do not. I’m deciding and I’m probably getting white subway tile.” He argued for a bit but he know how much I didn’t like the tile in the Texas kitchen so I think the decided to choose his battles and that one wasn’t worth it.
Additions:
I ordered a bit from JoAnn because of . . you know who! Denise! She told me Saturday night that JoAnn was having a sale and a lot of stuff (maybe everything that wasn’t already discounted but I’m not sure) was 20% off and shipping was something like $1.99. I put a few things in my cart and thought I ordered it but didn’t so I ordered it yesterday. It was mostly the interfacing Vonna uses when she makes little pillows from cross stitched pieces. I also ordered a couple of rolls of ribbon for Halloween stitching (which probably won’t be used this year) and a Halloween door mat.
Cooking:
Yes! You’ve already seen it all. Meatballs, okra & tomatoes and salmon.
Videos I Watched:
Tranquil Stitcher’s #124. She’s another prolific stitcher. I think she said she averaged 500 stitches per day in August. That’s an amazing number of stitches. For comparison, I did 149 stitches yesterday. 🙁 She also has a bingo game she’s starting and we have to have our submissions in by September 15. That might be fun.
Stitching:
I started on Let Love Reign. I’ll do a separate post on that.
Plans for Today:
Dinner is cooked – even the rice. All I have to do is make a salad. I didn’t cook breakfast yesterday so I probably should do that today. I’m thinking Vince would appreciate pancakes today.
The garden doesn’t really need much attention. I need to make another batch of Cowboy Candy but I think I’ll try to stitch as much as I can today and leave the garden stuff til tomorrow. We’ll see.

Judy, each day I look forward to your blog writings so much. They enhance my day and remind me so much of my married life with a wonderful man. Would you please share what interfacing you are referring to for interfacing your cross stich pieces pillows. Thank you so much.

I bought a bolt of the Pellon PF44 interfacing last week. All interfacing was 50% off, I am on the Joann’s mailing list, that’s how I knew. I saw the Vonna video too, and thought I might like to try the fusible on a small pillow I am stitching.

I’m on the mailing list and get texts but most often, don’t read any of them so I miss the good sales.
