September . . finally. Summer isn’t officially over but we survived August. Our weather is at that point where we have a few days with highs in the mid 80’s then a couple of days with the highs in the low 90’s; then a few days with the highs in the mid 80’s, then a few days with the highs in the high 80’s. There’s light at the end of the tunnel.
Yesterday – Vince went to the storage units and dug around looking for “tools”. At this point I’m thinking . . I’ve been here since October . . close to a year. Whatever I haven’t missed, I don’t need. But, you know he’s going to bring every piece of everything back to the house eventually.
Additions:
I did order some 30 count linen for a project. I don’t like using 30 count linen but that’s what I need to use. I’ll do a blog post on it later today.
Cooking:
The extent of my cooking was making BLTs for dinner. Still haven’t eaten the roast beef sandwiches. Maybe today.
Videos I Watched:
No videos.
Stitching:
Yes! I got a decent amount done (for me) on A Changed World.
Plans for Today:
- More stitching on A Changed World
- Finalize September stitching plans
- The freeze dryer will finish up so I have to put what’s in there in jars and vacuum seal those.
- Cut okra at a friend’s house

I’m sure your son is somewhere down my way working hard for us. Tell him Thank You! Word on the street (aka fb) is they have don’t have rooms or hot food. Now I’m starting to hear of people putting together meals for them. Don’t take much for the south Louisiana pots and burners to come out and start making jambalaya and such. Hoping he stays safe and some good food makes it his way.

Actually he isn’t there. Their family is going tomorrow but it was a planned trip. Last I heard, they only sent one crew down so far but if I tell Chad about the food, he may ask to go. When they went to Lake Charles last year, they slept a few nights in their truck, then stayed in Metairie a couple of nights and in Baton Rouge a couple of nights before a hotel in Lake Charles was set up to house them. That was way more driving than working!

I wasn’t clear . . Chad and the family are going to Lake Charles . . not to the hurricane damaged area.

Gas is starting to come hard to get all the way to Lafayette. So be sure he fills his tank mid-state
Judy Laquidara says
He’ll be driving a diesel so maybe that will be easier to get but who knows. I will tell him. Thanks!
