The good news is that the part for our a/c has arrived. It will take several hours to install it, probably more like half a day, so they’re going to start early (not before 8 a.m. I hope) Monday morning.
I think, but I’m afraid to look, that our temps are going to start decreasing today and our heat index will be below 100. I hope so because there’s a lot I need to do outside.
Additions:
Teresa Kogut posted the floss colors for her new charts so I ordered a bit of floss. That’s it .. not bad, huh?
Well, I did order a few things that weren’t cross stitch related. Denise told me about some cute wooden pumpkins on Etsy so I ordered two medium size orange ones for decorating and I ordered one smaller one that’s green but looks kinda aqua in the picture and I’ll use that to decorate in Addie’s room.
Then I found a shirt for Addie with a Baby Yoda coming out of a pumpkin so I ordered that for Addie.
I found a couple of cute things for Addie for her stocking for Christmas – some stickers with her name on them, pencils with rainbow lead and pencils with all kinds of positive sayings like “I am brave. I am kind.” Knowing our fragile the supply chain is these days, I wanted to have all my Christmas shopping done early and I’m happy to say that except for little items for Addie’s stocking, I’m done. We don’t exchange gifts with a lot of people so my shopping list is small but . . it’s finished and that’s good. I want to buy a couple of gift certificates from the meat store that we like and give those to some local friends but I’m not worried about those not being available.
Cooking:
Freeze dryer loaded and started; English Muffins finished. As we were moving things out of the freezer (fridge that stopped working but the freezer was still working fine), I found a couple of things that thing that I had saved so I heated up some Italian Sausage/Spinach/Tortellini soup that had been frozen. This definitely isn’t my idea of soup weather but it was good and I didn’t have to cook!
Videos I Watched:
I went to Flosstube at least three times but never managed to watch anything. Probably good .. flosstube gets expensive! 🙂
Stitching:
Just a little. We had company last night just as I started stitching and after they left, I never got back to it. Maybe today will be a stitching day.
Plans for Today:
Vince is going to town but I’m staying home. I think he has a list for Aldi, Walmart and Home Depot. Heck .. he may be gone all day! 🙂
Dinner is cooked. I do need to make more zucchini pineapple but once I get that done, I’m stitching. Who believes that? 🙂

i’m hoping you see this comment soon, i went to a friend’s house and picked zucchini to make the pinapple, but the only pineapple juice our little town had does not say “unsweetened” on the label. it’s what i have tho, and wondering from your experience if maybe i should reduce the sugar called for in the recipe. what do you think? … or any others that may have made it. i’m excited to make the cake and give her a piece along with a jar of it so that she can make her own. it won’t happen for awhile as we are going out of town and i’m cramming this project in while the zucchini is plentiful ;0) so glad that it will be canned and waiting for me when we get home.

The pineapple juice I’m using doesn’t say unsweetened on it either but the ingredients didn’t list sugar or any sweetener added. I don’t see any reason why you can’t reduce the sugar in the recipe if it is sweetened juice. I would probably make a half batch, keep notes of how much sugar you use and then taste it and see what you think. You can taste it before canning it and if it’s right, make more before running the canner. To me, the finished product tastes about as sweet as pineapple canned in light syrup.

mine (dole brand) didn’t list sugar or sweetener either, so i had the same mindset as you – that it would likely be unsweetened even tho the label didn’t say it. i think i’ll follow the recipe exactly as i’m in a time crunch. then if it’s too sweet i can always alter any recipe that i use it in. thanx for the quick reply, i’m starting to peel now.

I hope your A/C problems didn’t jinx me…I realized Wednesday night mine wasn’t cooling much. They came out yesterday and added Freon. My unit was low at the beginning of the season, so I’m going to have to have them return and look for the leak. As long as this gets me through the next couple of weeks, I should be ok. I need to look up how old the unit is, though…
