This picture! It’s a good thing we moved here because if we were still living in Texas, and I was still begging to move closer to them and I saw this picture this morning, I would probably have said “We’re moving! Today! Start packing! I’m leaving NOW.”
They grow up way too fast. Seeing this picture, a million memories went through my head – the first time I saw her when she was about two weeks old, when she was 3 years old and wouldn’t let Chad leave the house without her because she was afraid he was going fishing and not taking her; to her first day of kindergarten . . and here she is now. Even though it almost brings tears thinking how quickly she is growing up, it makes me smile knowing how much she is enjoying life, her enthusiasm and excitement for each new day.
It’s a different world for kids . . all of us really . . but the joy of watching a child grow and mature helps soothe some of the burdens of being an adult in today’s world.
So very glad to have this girl for our granddaughter; so very glad to have Chad and Nicole as her parents and as our son and daughter-in-law and so very, very, very glad that Vince agreed to move closer to them.
The first game is coming up and, 100 degrees or not . . we will be there!

Oh my. When did she get so grown up? I remember when you posted that she was really shy and wouldn’t talk to anyone in gymnastic or at school. This is a beautiful picture and I am so glad you are able to spend so much time with her now and watch her grow up and be a part of her life. Enjoy every minute.

How about I wait til they get her to be sure they’re good. It’s a place we’ve never ordered from. They should be here Tuesday or Wednesday. If we’re happy with them, I’ll get the link from Vince and share it?

She’s so grown up – doesn’t look like the little tomboy – looks like a model. So glad you’re there and get to see her often.

This makes my heart happy!
Our cheerleader great granddaughter will be 16 in October. She just asked a boy to the fall dance. First date. Turns out these two have had a secret crush on each other since the 6th grade! Her Mom said he’s just as shy as she is. (Her shyness isn’t present if it has ANYTHING to do with cheer…lol!!!)
Judy Laquidara says
That’s funny about the shyness because Addie is so shy. Sometimes she’ll tell people “thank you” and she whispers it and I say “speak up so they can here you!” and she’ll say “I’m too shy!” Apparently it’s the same with her – when it comes to cheer, she isn’t shy. Nicole said she’s so excited about the first game. I’m not terribly shy but there’s no way I would get out in front of people and cheer!
Sandi B says
Before she started cheer (in elementary school), she would hide and not speak. Even to us! It’s funny to watch her grow and evolve out of that.
She’s a flyer, which gives her even more attention.
She even ran for student government starting in about 5th grade. So, cheer has really help her develop her confidence.
I love that you’re so close and able to be an active participant in her life.

Wow, she’s gorgeous and looking much older than her years in this picture! Chad is going to have his hands full in a few years! I’m so glad you’re close enough to go to the games and spend so much time with her. Best move ever!
