Yesterday I had placed a grocery order with Walmart to be delivered this morning. I use Wheat Montana flour and just opened my last 50 pound bag of flour. From WM, I ordered four 10 pound bags of Wheat Montana flour. I was also out of soy sauce so I ordered that and a few other things that I needed just to meet the minimum delivery order. This morning I got a note that they were out of Wheat Montana flour and had nothing to substitute. They were also out of soy sauce so I canceled the order.
I was telling Vince and he said “Call the Mennonite grocery and see if they have Wheat Montana flour” so I did and they did.
I love Prairie Gold and haven’t been able to find that at Walmart so I’m glad they were out of all purpose flour this morning or I wouldn’t have gone to the Mennonite store. Some things I like to mix AP and Prairie Gold (cinnamon rolls, English muffins) so I’ll mix the AP I just opened with the Prairie Gold and can always buy more AP from the Mennonite store.
Tomorrow we’ll transfer it all to food safe 5 gallon buckets with Gamma Seal lids. I’m thankful that the downstairs garage is air conditioned so it’s great for storing things like this.

Do you have a link to the lids and 5 gallon pails that you use? Thanks. Wish we had a Mennonite grocery here. Another reason to be thankful for your move to MO!!

I checked Walmart and a Neighborhood Market. No Montana Wheat of any kind. Hope they’re not discontinued.

Me too. Our WM showed it in stock yesterday but who knows if that is correct. It’s also still available online for mail order but they’re back to having a limit of 2.
