See that little snowflake?
I keep watching Accuweather as far out as their forecast will go and there it is! November 22. IF we get a few flakes, they won’t last with those temps but snow is snow and I am SO ready for it! I love everything about winter – cold weather, shorter days, longer nights, soup, sleeping under a ton of quilts with the windows open. I love winter! I’m so ready for winter.
This is us today!
It’s hotter here than it is in Brownwood, Texas. There have been a lot of days this summer when it’s been hotter here than there. It’s an unusually mild and wet summer for them, and they definitely deserve a break from the horrible summers we had there for quite a few year. It’s been unusually hot for us. I’m not going to say we deserve it but I’ll take one for the team if it means the folks in Texas can get a break but . . Texas . . I don’t want your summers every year, ok?
Things could always be worse with a hurricane looking like it‘s headed for the Gulf Coast! My family and friends in SW Louisiana, who were hit so hard with Laura, then another hurrican about a month later, then damage from the winter’s ice storm . . they’re really starting to sound like they’re in a panic and I can’t say I blame them. So many of those people still don’t have their homes repaired from Laura. Tomorrow will be one year since it hit. There are a few good insurance companies but many, many of them have not been fair and the people there are hurting. My parents had Shelter Insurance and by all accounts I’ve heard, Shelter was one of the best with the way they’ve handled claims. We can learn a lot from the experiences of others when events like this happen.

I saw in the news today that it is headed for SW Louisiana and I immediately said a prayer for you friends and family there. They have had a lot in the last two years! This is horrible for them. Praying it goes somewhere else instead of right on them. Right now we could use a little rain. The temps for the rest of the month are supposed to be in the mid to low 90’s. That is very unusual for us! Not showing any real cold temps for us for the next year!! But then again, we are not going to have above 96 (so they say) it is going to be very cool the rest of the year. Not usual for us.

Right now it’s looking more like it will go east of them, between New Iberia (where my sister lives) and New Orleans. They’re all keeping an eye on it. Thank you for praying for that area.
