I think it was Tuesday evening I fed the sourdough and I did pretty much what I always do. Before I went to bed, I walked by and thought . . that looks like it might overflow so I stuck the jar in a bowl. Sure enough, the next morning, this is what I found.
I was aggravated that so much of it had bubbled over. I have no idea why it was so active. I dumped what was in the bowl, poured the contents of the jar into a clean jar and stuck it in the fridge.
When I feed the starter, I weigh out 50 grams of starter, add 50 grams of water and 50 grams of flour and that’s it. I’ll usually make bread and English Muffins but if there’s extra, I’ll make something else.
This morning Vince was wanting me to go with him to get eggs. I was in a rush to get the sourdough fed because I wanted to use it tonight and I dumped everything that was in the jar into a bowl. It was 130 grams. What was I thinking? As soon as I dumped it, I realized I shouldn’t have done that.
About mid-afternoon, the bowl was full and it was about to run over. I kinda felt like “Revenge of the Sourdough”!
I made two loaves of bread.
Those veggies in the background are not taking care of themselves and I must do something with them tomorrow.
That picture kinda reminds me of a hurricane in the ocean . . which is not a good thing to say right now.
I made up a small batch of dinner rolls just to experiment with adding fresh basil and sun dried tomatoes.
These rolls were excellent! I think the leftover rolls will make great little sandwiches tomorrow for lunch.
I spent way too much time playing in the kitchen this afternoon and never did get a single stitch made!
