I have this lamp downstairs and I love it. Upstairs I have the exact same lamp – same magnification, same everything except it has a base that doesn’t roll. I’ve never loved it and I always blamed it on the angle that it sits because I sit in the recliner and I can’t put it at the foot if the chair and hang over my work. The one downstairs, even though it’s on a rolling base and easier to position where I want it, I can see so much better with it.
I’ve been voicing my dissatisfaction with the upstairs light for several weeks. Vince said “Buy another one like you have downstairs!” but I kept saying . . they’re both the same with just a different base. What if I order another one and I don’t like. I asked him to see if he could figure out anything that was different in the two lights.
Last night, he must have been tired of my nagging so he went downstairs and got the top to the one I like. They both fit on the same pole connection thing and both have the same plug. He brought the one I like upstairs, set it up without moving the base for the one I don’t like so everything was in the exact same position and . . I could see much better with that one.
Vince said “there’s something wrong with the optics in the upstairs light”. He said it’s like eyeglasses – sometimes just some little something is off and it makes it hard to see or hard to walk with them on.
We ordered another lamp last night and we’re going to see how it works. Even though supposedly exactly the same, apparently some lamps are different. I sure hope I get another one I like!

Thanks for the information! I set up the Lowery work stand and I love it but the current magnifying light I have isn’t working for me. I’ll be adding this to my set up! lol By the way, I follow Teresa Kogut on Facebook and she showed a photo of a new cross stitch pattern and even though I hadn’t planned on buying anything new for awhile, I will be ordering Cotswold Fields at some point. I love it so much!

I was just watching her new flosstube with the new stuff and Vince came in. So as not to arouse any suspicion, I turned it off but I’m dying to watch the rest of it.

Is your lamp under warranty by chance? I had looked @ those & decided to go w/the Stella pink (on sale). What a difference it makes. Now I just received the Stella Go. I’m so glad there are so many choices for us. We won’t discuss the light collection I have ?

No. It isn’t under warranty now. I had looked at the Stella lights but I have plenty of good light, it’s the magnification I need and as far as I could see, that isn’t an option with Stella.
