We’ve had so much going on. The building arrived, then the electricians were here, then the a/c went out, then the guys were here working on the shop. They were supposed to come back today and start working on the deck. I told Vince last night . . we need a day off . . a day when we have NOTHING that has to be done and no one here.
This morning the guy who was to start working on the deck came by and told Vince he wasn’t going to be able to work on the deck for a while. He had another job that he had to get done so he was going to move back to that job and get it finished. Vince wasn’t disappointed. It’s so hot and Vince has worked hard helping get the inside of the building finished and I know he was happy to get a few days off.
It’s still been busy. I had never closed the Texas bank accounts so I did all that this morning. We had a lot that was on automatic withdrawal and there was one thing that it took us several tries to get changed to the new bank. They had even started drafting the new bank and for some crazy reason, switched back to the Texas bank so I waited til we were absolutely sure that was all resolved. It appears to be so those are closed now.
The new phone arrived a couple of days ago. I always dread switching things over, even though it’s never hard and the phone does all the work. My biggest concern wasn’t contacts, wasn’t the calendar . . it XStitchPlus . . the cross stitch program that has all my charts in it. I would have been very sad if all that didn’t transfer over completely. It did so I’m happy.
It seems like there was other stuff going on because this morning, we kept saying “It’s our day off and we’re so busy”. It makes me wonder how we ever got things done when Vince worked full time.
I am getting some good cross stitching done!

Where is the new deck going – by the house or the shop or both? And concerning the post on magnifying lamps – can Vince use any of the lamps for his shop?
Re the bank drafting your account for paying bills – I do the reverse process and schedule bill payment through the bank. Some of the utilities are on average pay, so it is easy to guess the amount, add a few extra dollars as a cushion and then schedule to pay on a certain date. I review & adjust if necessary, but I don’t worry about every company having all the banking info. The bank even cuts & mails checks without an additional fee.

We didn’t have any bank drafts for utilities in Texas because we had the well for water, free internet and rarely had to pay an electric bill because of the solar panels. We had propane and paid for that when it was delivered. But we bought this house before we opened an account here so we had everything drafting out of the Texas bank. We don’t do the averaging for our bills. It’s all switched over to the bank here now and it’s working fine.
The deck – we’re redoing part of the house deck.
