Last night, or really . . very early this morning, I was stitching and you know how things just happen and you don’t even realize it? I realized I was leaning way over in the chair and not stitching in a very comfortable position.
Boots was sleeping and had his paws wrapped around my arm. I so hated to move him. I could have sat there for hours looking at him all snuggled around my arm.
He’s the sweetest cat. I think just before he fell asleep in that position he thought about biting me. As soon as he put his teeth on my arm, I said “NO!” and he stopped, but just stayed in that position and fell asleep.
Here’s something weird. I usually take a shower right before bed but I’d been out in the garden so I came in and took a shower about 2. I put on body lotion and when I went back downstairs, Boots did not like it. His eyes immediately got back and he started trying to bite. I moved my arm and he came after it so I had my spray bottle handy. I don’t usually put on lotion til right before bed so that hasn’t been a trigger previously but he was not happy today with the lotion. You’d think he would just stay away if he didn’t like it but no . . he was going to kill the source of the smell! 🙁
I kept the spray bottle sitting in the chair with me so he kept his distance, which was good. We had not had dinner yet and I preferred to eat before being covered in cat hair.
