This morning we left home about 9. We ran by the Farmers’ Market to pick up our CSA bag. Vince ran in and got it while I stayed in the car. Then, we went to Home Depot for him to get a few things. I sat in the car . . for 40 minutes and it was HOT. He left me the keys so I finally turned on the a/c but I was not happy that he was in there so long. From there, we went to the meat market and picked up some stew meat that was on sale and I needed a big piece of “London Broil” for a recipe. They had one that looked great but it was 10 pounds so I had them cut it all into 1/4″ slices (though I think they’re a bit more like 3/8″ slices and that’s probably better).
From there, we were on our way home and passed Arby’s. Vince said “The parking lot is empty. Will you go in there?” I told him I’d go in and look (like I could see coronavirus!) and if I felt like it was clean enough, and no other people, I’d eat there. Everything looked ok so we ate a sandwich there. On our way home, Chad called. I already knew they were in Joplin. He said they were going to pick up pizzas and come by our house and eat with us. About 15 minutes later, he called and said they weren’t coming, he got called out to work. Then he called back and said the other guy that’s going with him to KC can’t get there for two hours so they were coming by. They did come by for a quick visit. It’s always good to see them . . minutes or hours or even days make me happy.
Before they got here, I told Vince I didn’t think the a/c was cooling. Nope . . thermostat was set on 70. We watched it go from 73 to 74 to 75. We turned it off. The a/c guy we need to use just has voice mail so we probably won’t hear from him til Monday. Thank goodness for the basement. I can stitch. Vince can watch TV.
I had planned to peel and chop tomatoes to make pico to freeze dry but I’m not sure I want to have a pot of boiling water on the stove. Maybe early tomorrow morning I’ll get that done.
Anyway . . I’m back in my chair stitching.
