I was sitting in my chair minding my own business, which is normal (NOT!), and my magnifying lamp went off. I got up, checked the plug but the plug doesn’t fit securely in there. It was fine. I took the lamp to another plug (in the hallway) and tried it in that one. Nope, it was dead! Yes! I do not like that lamp anyway. It’s the first one I bought, wasn’t terribly expensive but enough so that I didn’t want to throw it out so I kept using it upstairs.
Just as Vince and I were finished with a late breakfast, a friend drove up with a bag of okra so I went into the kitchen to cut it up for the freeze dryer, asked my Google “thing” to play my music . . dead! Because I know the first thing Vince is going to ask me is “did you try a different plug” so, again, I tried another plug across the kitchen. Still dead. I didn’t really mind because the newer Google “things” (I can’t remember what it’s called) are probably better. Mine is getting old.
Went outside and informed Vince that I need a new lamp and a new Google thing. Came back in, finished the okra . . with no music! Went to sit down and stitch with the lamp I moved in from the breakfast room. On my way into the living room, I turned on the ceiling fanf. Sat down, turned on the new lamp. Dead! Looked up . . fan not working. Flipped on the hall light . . no lights. The things on the opposite ends of the house were working – bedroom and laundry room.
I was too lazy to walk all the way down there so I went out on the deck and asked if the power in the house was supposed to be off. No! The “helper” had turned off a few breakers too many so that was an easy fix.
For a little perspective . . the corner where the guy is leaning over, just passed him on that short wall is the walk through door. Just to the left of this bed is where you go into the downstairs garage and there will be a fridge in there and a bathroom just beyond there so even though he doesn’t have all the modern conveniences, they aren’t far away.
Speaking of that bed, see those bright green elderberry bushes, those are some that came in with that bundle Vince ordered. Most of them I planted in grow bags but I ran out of bags and stuck these two in an opening in that bed and they have grown like crazy. I’m sure we’ll get elderberries from them this spring.

Speaking of elderberries, I have spent the last three hours stripping elderberries off the stems. I’m going to see how dehydrating them goes. I plan to use them in my homemade elderberry brew that I use for colds, flu, and any other virus that wants to show up. I’ve concluded that it is much easier and quicker to buy the ones already dehydrated from Bulgaria on Amazon!
I’m glad your electrical problem was just breakers being turned off. In the past year we’ve had to replace the outside light, two light switches, stove burner switches, front handle switches on my Gammill, several light bulbs that blew when the lightning strike was a little too close….and my alarm clock!!!

WOW! You’ve had a run of bad luck with all that electrical stuff. Lightning can really cause a lot of damage. Last year I froze my elderberries. As much as I’m not a fan of freezing anything, that was the easiest thing I could do. They don’t freeze dry well because of the skins. Let me know how they do in the dehydrator. Maybe I’ll try that next time I get berries.

Hope you get the elderberries before the birds! 🙂

We’ll see. That’s always a problem but birds have to eat too. 🙂
