Vince’s shop was supposed to be delivered today around 3. At 1:00, he looked out and said “they’re here!”
The delivery guy has the neatest trailer. I’m sure the whole world knows about it except me but he has a remote and he can move the back or the front left or right, move the whole thing frontwards or backwards to get it exactly where you want it. He told Vince, you tell me the exact spot where you want it and I’ll put it there .. and he did.
It was fun watching him get it positioned.
It’s in place now. The electrician may come tomorrow but probably not til early next week because I believe there are still some lines to be marked before they dig a trench.
This is the door that leads into the shop area. The building is 14 x 40. The shop area is 14 x 22. The storage area is 14 x 18.
This is the back door that goes into the storage area. You can see there’s a roll up door on that end.
The inside will be finished with “car siding” which kinda reminds me of shiplap but . . what do I know?
There’s Vince’s workbench between the windows. I think they’re spraying something on the floor . . kinda like you see in commercial shops but I can’t remember what it’s called.
There are 14 double plugs around the room, 2 double plugs in the ceiling and one 220 plug. I don’t think Vince will run short on electrical outlets.
I’m happy Vince has it and I hope he enjoys it and loves creating whatever he’s going to create out there. I asked him what he’s going to do and he said “make stuff and have a place to go”. Hmmm . . this will be interesting.
Then he said “No, really I’m going to put up a big screen TV and a bar. What did you think I was going to do? Work?” OK . . it may be really interesting. The truth is . . whatever happens in the building stays in the building. I would imagine Vince prefers it to be a “No Wife Allowed” zone. I can live with that.

I’m laughing so hard right now! “Big screen TV and a bar”….LOL!
What an awesome space. I need something like that for my studio.
Congratulations!

I have had a couple neighbors with a tv in the garage. I called it their man cave.

I’m at a quilting retreat sitting here giggling. You go Vince!!
Judy Laquidara says
Whatever he wants to do out there (within reason), I’m happy with it. He deserves it though I seriously doubt a big screen TV will interest him but if it does, I’m happy for him. 🙂

I love this!!

Congratulations to Vince! He will surely enjoy it! We had a shop/garage built and my husband says he just loves going into it and looking around. I’m hoping he spends many happy hours in it when he retires! 😀

I suspect that Vince’s ‘man cave’ will become the neighborhood hang out for the men! But if your hubby is happy out there, that’s what’s important — as he’s be so happy that YOU will be happy in your quilt space! We are getting ready to move into our home (much smaller than the last one) — and there is a LOT of work to be done as there was a lot of ‘deferred maintenance’. But we’ve been talking about my husband’s storage shed (aka: ‘man cave’). He keeps saying “I don’t need one” but I know he secretly wants one designed the way HE wants it….
Judy Laquidara says
I think all of the neighborhood men have much bigger and better shops than Vince’s. Many of them have enough land that they have the shops Vince would love to have had.
That’s exactly what Vince said when I kept saying “but the house doesn’t have a shop”. Vince said he didn’t need one, fugured he would use the downstairs garage as his “shop” but as soon as he got here, he started working on how to get a shop.

My first thought was whoa! I think I need that!Is there a link for ordering? Or did I miss it?

If you’re asking about the barn, here’s their website: https://www.trimlinebarns.com/

Jann just has one question. Where is Vince putting the brass pole??
Judy Laquidara says
Reesa! I thought . . what kind of typo did I make because I didn’t remember a brass pole. Went back and read the post, didn’t see any mention of a brass pole then I thought . . if Jann is asking, I need to think a little outside the box. Dear Jann: That is why I said “within reason”. I may have to start watching the company Vince is keeping.
