If I decided to do a morning stitching report and in that report, I shared everything about the previous day’s cross stitching, would I date it today (as I’m doing today) or should I date it for the previous day’s date since that’s when it all happened? Tell me what you think please. It isn’t that it matters. It isn’t going to affect space travel or ships sailing . . it’s just whatever y’all think!
Yesterday I feel like I did a lot of stitching but I guess I didn’t because it doesn’t look like much. I am going to have to stop watching floss tubes. I go look at everything others are stitching, put it all in my cart, sometimes take it all out, sometimes order it. Then I go looking at fabric and trying to decide what I would use, knowing I’m not going to do any of it any time soon.
Additions:
I did order some floss yesterday, mainly because Chrissy at Finally a Farm Girl talked about substitutions she made for Honest Abe and I figured by the time the chart hit the stores, that floss would be nowhere to be found. There were two colors she mentioned and I had neither so I ordered those and a few skeins of DMC I need. I had a couple of pieces of Lugana in my cart but took those out. Good job, huh?
Teresa Kogut has a free chart on her website. Kindness is Free. I love Teresa Kogut’s charts, how she seems as a person and I get so excited with each new thing she shows.
Cooking:
Vince wanted grits! I fixed bacon, eggs, toast and grits for breakfast. Then about 2 p.m., I heated up the meatballs and sauce, cooked pasta and made the pea salad. I took a small loaf of banana nut bread out of the freezer. I thought about making bread pudding with some bread that needs to be used . . talked myself out of it but maybe I’ll do that today.
Videos I Watched:
I mentioned yesterday that I watched Finally A Farm Girl, Video #14. I also watched Arms Family Homestead. I love watching that family. I watched a video from Springfield, MO about the covid status there and I watched Dr. Campbell, a British doctor. He does a video almost every day about Covid, the variants, and he often talks about vitamins and supplements. I try to watch his videos every evening unless they’re on a topic that doesn’t interest me.
Stitching:
It seems very meager but I did manage to finish the final corner square, or the black stitching on it. Heck, I don’t even think that’s all of the black stitching.
And, I finished the first row of stitching the words. I think I had the first word done and maybe part of the second word so really, I didn’t accomplish a whole lot.
There are three more rows of letters to be done in that first section. I doubt I stitch any of those today.
Plans for Today:
First off, Vince’s shop building is supposed to be delivered today. That will be interesting. Not sure how long that will all take but I’ll watch part of that process.
Dinner today is going to be beef stew that I took out of the freezer. I will make a salad. I wish I had cabbage to make slaw but I don’t.
The freeze dryer will be finished . . probably now . . so I need to get everything put in jars and vacuum sealed.
I may work on the Rooster Alphabet today. I’d like to get it done, though I doubt I can finish it today. Heck, I know I can’t but I could make some progress. Maybe I’ll spend most of the day working on the rooster, then this evening go back to A Changed World.
I may make a bread pudding .. may not. I’m kinda hungry for one but it’s better served warm but it’s so hot for a warm dessert.
I’ve read all the books on my Kindle so I need to get on the library online and get myself a couple more books to read.
Let’s hope I stick with the script and get at least some of this done today!

The date you post it. We all know you got that far the night before.

I’m also for the date you post it. As an aside, I had to go to Teresa Kogut’s link and get the free pattern but then I decided to look at her cross stitch patterns…oh my!! A visit to her Etsy shop was next…lol. I ended up buying 5 patterns! That’s okay, winter will be coming….lol

I don’t believe that it matters which date – – when you post it you usually tell us when you’re finished for the evening.

think I mentioned this family before but thought I’d gve you the name of the series on YouTube
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC02NY8Q55HWVXKLrFpj_2QQ It’s Somers in Alaska
they just did their first sort of “moose proof” garden, thought you’d be interested, they can’t plant till June 1st and you won’t believe the size of what they are harvesting

I agree with the day you post it. The question makes me think of the reminder I heard the other day: if you want to get a newspaper page to see what happened on, say, somebody’s birthday or wedding date, order the day after! That’s when they publish the news that was happening on the date!
Judy Laquidara says
Oh, my goodness . . we always bought on the day of the birthday. You should have told me that 40 years ago! 🙂

I wouldn’t have thought of it either! I’ll have to give Gretchen Rubin (Happier podcast) a thumbs up for this!

Make sure that guy doesn’t come back and steal some of Vince’s building materials! So glad he is getting this done and he can start working in there. I am sure he misses his shop.
Judy Laquidara says
Yes, I think a lot of it was just the idea that he didn’t have a shop. There were so many times when he wanted to trim something or sand something and none of his tools are set up. I’m sure he won’t do a whole lot til it gets a bit cooler because everything has to be moved from the house garage to the shop. The inside still has to be finished but they can do that in one or two days.

Oh I love bread pudding! My mother uused to make it from older bread. And they also had it at Golden Corral. Yum!!
