This isn’t a permanent location but I needed to get them in the ground. I’m aware that once planted, I’ll never get them all out so, for all intents and purposes, it probably is a permanent Jerusalem Artichoke garden.
Vince got out early this morning, dug out weeds and plants we don’t want, moved some topsoil over so the water runs off away from the house vs. towards the house.
He has all the tools . . including a chair for resting. He did have a bottle of water but I guess he has it with him, where ever he was when I took this picture.
This picture was taken before I covered the holes but they’re all planted, covered and watered. Vince said “You can order more. There’s room!” I reminded him this is not where they’re staying. When we find a permanent location for them, we can order more then if we want but I think he’s forgotten how quickly they multiply.
I’ll let them sprout and get a bit above the ground, then we’ll mulch this area, then we’ll sit back and wait to have Jerusalem Artichokes to eat.
