Another Anniversary

Today marks one year since the transfer of the MO house from our sweet friends to us! One year . . can you believe it?

We’ve done a lot when you think about just one year, especially since Vince didn’t move here til April. Four months? Really? That hardly seems right but I think it was the first week in April when the house in Texas sold and he came here.

I feel like the biggest accomplishment was jumping through all the hoops to get our driver’s licenses and get the cars registered. The cars weren’t a problem but the driver’s licenses were.

We’ve done a lot in the yard including 12 or 13 (or maybe 14 – I can’t remember) Little Giants, 3 peach trees, 2 plum trees, 2 elderberry trees, 2 wisterias and 2 raspberry bushes. We’ll get more but that was all they had left when we found them. Vince got the raised beds for the garden built and filled. I planted and we have an amazing little garden.

We ordered appliances . . which may or may not arrive!

We’ve done a lot of little things that I’m forgetting . . all in making it our own.

We both think we found the perfect house for us and often say how happy we are that we found it before real estate went crazy and we’re happy the sellers were such easy folks to work with and have become such great friends. We sometimes wish we had more land but realize we’d work ourselves to death if we had much more space to fill.

I will never forget finding this house online; Vince wasn’t home and when he got back, I met him at the car and said “I think I found us a house!” Yep . . I did! 🙂
