Yesterday I did get the 8 letters done and then . . I noticed a mistake . . a BIG mistake.
It may be hard to tell but the lower half of the H is one stitch too long. I lined up all the rest of the stitches from the bottom of the previous letter so everthing on that row after the H . . all down one stitch too low.
I wish I could just say “too bad” and leave it but I can’t. There’s no way to fix the stitches . . I’ll just rip each letter out, one at a time, re-stitch it and then move on to the next.
It’s kinda funny because I was so sure I was going to finish this piece by Tuesday and that would give me a couple of days when I might start something new before August 1. The truth is . . I don’t need to start something new right now so . . there’s a reason for everything.
Today I’ll probably spend the entire day ripping and re-doing 7-1/2 letters. Darn it!
You would know that the K, the M, the N . . those are such big, stitch heavy letters. Oh well . . I can sit here and complain about it or I can start ripping.
Helen says
Aww, what a bummer! I, too, hate ripping stitches, but you wouldn’t be happy with it if you didn’t fix it.
Judy Laquidara says
I knew if I put it away, I’d never get back to it so I’m working on it now.

If you leave e it, it would be more like an antique sampler
Judy Laquidara says
I would never like it and probably never even finish it if I didn’t fix it.
Nancy H. says
I can see that the rest are all down a stitch so your eyes would notice it every time. I hate to rip but I would either rip it out and redo it or I would have to throw it away. If I put it away I would never fix it and someone else would throw it away when they clean out my house
Judy Laquidara says
Exactly!
Dot Murdoch says
I also noticed there was no ( W ) in the alphabet…..Was that a miss, or just not included???
Judy Laquidara says
Not included. They often left out the W and sometimes the I.
Ruth says
Just add one stitch to the F and H??
Judy Laquidara says
That would put too many spaces between that row and the row above it plus I already had four letters done on the row below that one and your suggestion would put those rows too close together.
Susan says
Why not just rip out FGH? Move F&G down 1 stitch and shorten H by 1 stitch.
