I’m so happy to have three framed pieces now. All I have left to do is the marriage piece and I don’t have enough perle cotton to lace it so it will have to wait. Here’s Big Red House by La-D-Da framed!
I have a frame that I bought but this frame from Goodwill looked better so I used it. A $3.00 frame. Can’t beat that! Plus, it had the sawtooth hook on the back so I was able to hang it on the wall.
This is the wall that’s by the front door. You can see the thing there so the door knob doesn’t make a hole in the wall. There were two nails left in the wall so I hung it on one of those. This will be my “house” wall and I’ll hang “A House Is” on this wall and I’ll hang God Bless This House and other house type things on this wall so, even though the two nails that are there now are higher than they need to be for one little picture, I’m leaving them and by the time I add four or five more things, they’ll be perfect. At least I have a plan, right?
The doorway to the right of this wall goes into the hallway. There’s probably an 8′ opening, maybe 6′ . . I don’t know but on that wall you’re facing when you walk through that opening, I want to hang patriotic items. You can see that wall from most anywhere on the main level. Vince said he can put lights that shine on the groupings too so we’ll see. I have lots of stitching to get done before we need display lighting.

What do you store in those drawers? I have a chest of drawers in my entry way and I have a variety of purposes – too much to list, but is an area that centralizes all the stuff so it is easy to find and use. For example, all the batteries are in one drawer and another drawer has the hats, scarves, gloves that I need.
Limiting stuff to a drawer really helps to thin out stuff to what I really need and use. I like that!!!
Looking forward to seeing that wall display increase. It will be beautiful!

One drawer has small flashlights that we grab when we need them. They end up all over the house. We go out one door with them at night, come through another door, drop the flashlight in the laundry room or kitchen; or one of us grabs one to look in a dark spot and forgets to bring it back so about once a week, I make a trip through the house gathering up flashlights so they’ll always be there when we need them.
One drawer has all Rita’s sweaters for winter.
One drawer is full of mechanical pencils (the cheap kind you buy in a package of 25 or more at Walmart).
One drawer has all the punches I use for making floss tags.
One drawer has all kinds of tape – packing tape, double stick tape, tape for wrapping packages.
One drawer has individually wrapped cleaners for our glasses.
One drawer has dog leashes in case we go out the front door with Rita.
One drawer has ziplock bags of safety pins, paper clips, rubber bands, staples and a stapler.
One drawer has a basic first aid kit – bandaids, antibiotic ointment, alcohol wipes.
That’s all I’m remembering but I think there are two or three empty drawers (or there were the last time I looked).

What a great deal on that beautiful frame. It is perfect with the beautiful stitching.
