Last night Addie decided we were going to take turns asking one person a question. I though Vince would have a turn and he could ask either Addie or me a question, then I’d do the same, then Addie would ask her question to one of us . . the end! No . . it went on for hours! I think Vince laughed harder than I’ve seen him laugh in ages. She is so funny and her reactions were hilarious. She gives Vince such a hard time.
She comes back at him and he isn’t sure how to handle her. He’s been on her about not picking up her plate after we eat so she’s been doing it but he hasn’t so she’ll go find him wherever he is and say “Excuse me. I think you left your plate on the table!” He’llt ry to tell her he isn’t done eating and he may be outside watering plants. Nope . . stop and come pick up your plate!
She was asking the funniest questions . . like to Vince, she asked “Tell me about your girlfriends when you were young.” “Tell me your favorite candy when you were a kid”.
I asked Vince “How much money will you give me to go to Louisiana?” He said $50. Addie jumped up and said “NO! We need at least $1,000.” Right . . I told her . . don’t worry, we’ll have a credit card.
She giggled. Vince and I laughed so hard. Just a basic little game.

Such a wonderful way to spend an evening! Several of our grandchildren have had school assignments to visit and ask grandparents about their life at the same age that the child is now. That certainly makes for interesting questions, answers, amazement and amusement! Lots of laughter and some incredulity too!

I loved to hear how my Grandparents met and what life was like when they were young(er). I don’t remember ever asking my one set of grandparents how they met, but my paternal grandparents met at a party. My grandmother went TO the party with one fellow, and was escorted home by my grandfather. I liked to tease her about that! She always insisted the first young man was just a friend and they weren’t dating. I also asked what types of things they did on dates since my dates were things like a movie and ice cream. She said they would drive to the next town over (larger than where they lived), and get a bowl of chili. So interesting!
