I’ve wanted a video doorbell since I first heard about them. Our house in Texas didn’t have a doorbell but Vince was never interested in checking them out because . . I don’t know know if they’ve always been this way but the video doorbells these days will work off batteries or hard wire and there’s a little gizmo that you plug into an outlet and that’s what rings. Our old doorbell is obsolete! We could have connected them but this way was easier.
Vince was out messing with it and he said “I’d never open the door to this guy!” 🙂
Addie wanted to cut her own toenails so I told her . . fine but go out on the porch and do it and if you cut yourself and you’re bleeding to death, hobble out into the grass so you don’t make a mess on the porch. Poor child! She was out there and I screamed “Ouch” through the speaker. At first, it scared her but then she remembered the doorbell camer and she laughed.
Because Vince used the old doorbell wires, the new one pretty much just captures what happens on the porch but we have other cameras that give us better views and we can communicate through those too. We’ve only had them all hooked up a couple of nights but I thought we might see deer or other critters during the night but so far, we’ve only captured a few rabbits.
It doesn’t take much to entertain the old folks! 🙂

Just yesterday hubby said we should get a trail cam for our yard. We live in the woods, so are used to all the deer, turkey, raccoons, opossums, etc, but we’ve never seen a bear. Seeing a bear in the area is a newsmaker, so you know it doesn’t happen often. Well, twice this year we’ve found bear scat in the yard, so now hubby wants the trail cam to see if we can see a bear. While it might be exciting to see a bear, I’m not sure I want to see one that close to home…

We had several in Texas and I loved seeing what showed up. We kept one on Cat’s food bowl and we had quite a few interesting cats we were feeding.

When I had my house for sale, I could “see” the interested buyers on my phone as they came up to my front door. That was interesting.
