The little garden is doing ok. Both our squash plants died. I have one jalapeno plant and I get about 6 to 8 peppers every day. It’s full of blooms but I’ll be surprised if it keeps producing this much. I get 5 – 8 bell peppers per week (two plants)
The asparagus is going great. I’m so tempted to cut enough for a meal and eat it. I ordered three year roots and it probably wouldn’t do much harm if I cut enough for one meal but I’m going to wait til next year to harvest any of it.
We have two eggplants and I think there are 9 eggplants between the two of them now – all still small but I’m watching them closely.
The okra is probably going to produce not much of anything. About one-third of it didn’t even come up. The rest is pretty scraggly looking.
The tomatoes are loaded with tomatoes — all sizes. I pick a couple of tomatoes per day but I can see how it may be 3 or 4 per day soon.
Strawberries are pretty. They won’t produce any more til next spring.
It’s nice to have a small garden that’s easy to care for. Of course, there won’t be much canning of veggies I grew myself.

A fungus took over our squash after we got several. My sister in law has some lunch box peppers. They are little and sweet. I can’t have spicy ones, so I’m going to get some of these for my garden. They are great stuffed with cream cheese. We’ve been lucky to have lots of cucumbers and tomatoes. My husband has on called Orange Whopper. It’s delicious.

I’ve never heard of an Orange Whopper. Sounds interesting. I think it was a fungus that got my squash too. We had so much rain in the spring.

Our squash was a bust as well….all five plants! Four banana peppers that have only produced a few peppers. Green beans did well but it was only one short row and has yielded enough for several meals. Next year I will plant more and hope to have enough to can. Cucumbers….two of four survived and those two have lots of blooms so I’m hopeful. Our tomatoes are loaded but the foliage on one variety is turning yellow. Can’t figure out what is going on. It happened last year too but don’t remember if it was the same variety. I love fresh tomatoes the best so I’m glad to see so many.
