Yesterday I started working on Veterans’ Day at Twin Gables by Heartstring Samplery.
Since I always start at the top left, that’s where I started. I want to get to the bottom so I’m kinda quickly working my way down.
I can’t decide what I’m going to do at the bottom. I was going to put my uncle’s initials but then I thought maybe I’d write out his whole name. I can decide that later but for now, I’m going to get down to the text box at the bottom and then I can plan what I’ll do.
I’m using a “Blendable” Sulky for the roof and loving the color. I also love the coverage I’m getting with the 12 wt. thread on 32 count fabric.
I probably won’t get much stitching done this weekend but every little bit helps.

Despite reading that you started this yesterday the photo at the top is so real I thought you must have speed stitched to get that much done. As I read I love the realistic bottom photo, much more my expectation. It is a great pattern and will look beautiful when you are done.

While I enjoy the process of stitching, for this one, I would love to be a speed stitcher and have it finished by the time I see my dad. Doubtful but one can hope.

Have you seen the free Country Living.com cross stitch patterns? There is the cutest chicken and bike and other things Addie might be interested in. They don’t take long and would make lovely ornaments for a tree. I gave my nieces ornaments every year and they had a nice start when they married and now I try to do it with the great grand nieces and nephews. Oh, the new trend in tattoos is cross stitch.

I haven’t seen those but I will check them out. Thanks.
