When I posted that I was going to stitch A Changed World by The Scarlett House, several of my friends and blog readers asked about the chart and I know some have ordered it.
Denise of Just Quiltin and Jo of Jo’s Country Junction and I have been talking about doing it together and we’ve come up with a plan and wanted to invite anyone who wants to join us to do so. This is not endorsed by The Scarlett House or anyone us . . just the three of us having fun together.
Denise talked about our plans in this post and Jo discussed it in this post.
Our Little SAL:
We would love for anyone who wants to do this chart to do it along with us. We really have no rules or expectations. You know that I rarely finish anything on time but since we have no deadline, whenever I do it, it will be “on time” for me! We plan to do blog posts on Fridays and update our progress. Of course, you do not need a blog to participate but if you have a blog and would like to add a link to your progress post, you can do that here, or on Denise or Jo’s blogs. I will always link to them in my Friday posts.
This is one of those projects that I want to stitch and enjoy every stitch. The sentiments of the chart fit my own feelings and just knowing that Tanya from The Scarlett House, and many others probably, feel the same or similar to how I’m feeling will be a bit therapeutic I’m thinking. No rush . . just enjoy the stitching.
The Chart:
You will need your own chart. Kitten Stitcher now has the chart. I got mine from Silver Needle. I’ve ordered from both places and highly recommend them. I’ve also seen the chart listed in “Coming Soon” areas on Etsy shops.
The Floss:
The chart lists 100/3 silks and DMC colors. I had Needle in a Haystack convert to Soie d’Alger for my project. If you prefer Soie d’Alger, you can call Cathe at Needle in a Haystack and tell her you want the same floss I got and I’m sure she can look it up and get it right out to you. But . . DMC is fine and I wouldn’t hesitate to use DMC.
The Fabric:
I’m using 36 count linen, Baked Clay by Fox & Rabbit, which is the called for linen. I ordered mine from Kitten Stitcher but I believe she is out. I have seen it on a couple of Etsy shops. I rarely feel the need to use the called for fabric but because I wanted this to be special, I did use the called for linen.
Start Date:
Denise, Jo and I plan to start stitching on August 1. As I mentioned, we have no finish date in mind. We are going to enjoy the project and it will be done when it’s done.
If you’re wanting to stitch this beautiful and meaningful chart, please join us if you’d like.

I’m in! I have my linen and I’m waiting for my chart. I would probably have my DMC too, but I can’t find a listing for the colors needed, so I have to wait until the chart gets to me. In the mean time I am trying to finish my Newcastle Bouquet project. Happy that this SAL starts in August.

Jo recently got hers back from the framer. If you didn’t see it, it’s here and it’s gorgeous! https://www.joscountryjunction.com/its-finally-finished/

I will plan to join in. My chart is on its way and I probably have most of the DMC which is what I will use. I need to check on what linen I already have on hand. If I don’t have something suitable I will need to order that. I should be good to go come August, but I, too, will get it done when I get it done! Ha ha!!
The sentiments of this sampler just rang so true with me and I’m looking forward to eventually hanging this in my home.

I bought the pattern too and should receive it in the next couple of weeks. I will use DMC as that’s what I have. I’ve never used linen so I will have to think about what I will do but I’ll figure that out once I get the pattern.

Glad you will be joining us. I’m sure whatever you use will be perfect and beautiful!

I am in also. My chart, linen and silk are on the way from the shop in Calgary Alberta. It’s going to be a git for my daughter. I am excited to try the silk thread.
