Some days, as much as I love tinkering in the kitchen, I get tired of it. I’m tired of it today. This morning I had to get those two salads made. I was right in the middle of that when Vince asked about breakfast so I put the salads aside, made eggs, grits, bacon and heated up bagels. All I wanted was a bagel with cream cheese and the blueberry jam but I knew Vince wanted more. We ate, got that done, then I went back to the salads.
After we got home from the neighborhood get together, I went back into the kitchen and started again.
Sourdough English Muffins:
A friend is having surgery this week so I made a batch of sourdough English Muffins with walnuts and dried cranberries. She loves my English Muffins so I’m going to try to keep her supplied during her recovery, along with a few dinner meals.
That will all continue to ferment overnight and I’ll make the muffins in the morning.
Dog Food:
Rita sighs or grunts and Vince feeds her. I can’t complain because she’s not overweight but it seems no matter how much dog food I make, I’m making it again in a week.
Blueberry Buckle:
Chad and Nicole were in town so they came by and had blueberry buckle and ice cream with us.
It was so good but I’m ready to be out of the kitchen for at least a few hours. The Blueberry Buckle recipe can be found here.
