We went to Walmart yesterday and I was looking for larger baskets for storing the linen since I have a good bit of 36 count and 40 count. They didn’t have what I was looking for but I didn’t want to go anywhere else so I found some that were folded up – kinda flannel like but thicker and they have a “base” that goes in the bottom that keeps them square and upright. They cost about the same as those I had gotten at Tuesday morning but since they were larger, and I won’t need as many, they were a good buy for what I needed.
They’re also not as sturdy (so a cat getting in and out wouldn’t be a good idea) so I’m going to keep the linen in the sewing room closet. I bought three large and three smaller. They’re all the same size at the base but the smaller ones aren’t as tall. This one has 36 count linen and there’s room for more but I doubt I get much more. I’ll use one for 40 count, and I have about the same amount of that. The others – 32, 30 and 28 count . . I may have 4 or 5 pieces of each so one of the smaller matching containers will probably store all of those.
That leaves me with two small containers and one larger container I can use.
I think in one small container, I will put the three paper punches I use, along with the wooden stick I use for cutting DMC to fit on floss tags.
In the other smaller container, I think I’ll toss the floss that I order for projects. Sometimes I order floss for four or five projects and don’t stop right then and kit it all up so new floss that’s for specific projects can stay in a bin til I get around to making the kits.
In the large bin, I think I’ll store projects I’ve started. They’re all in bags (that I bought from Amazon). I don’t want projects I’ve started to be mixed in with the kits I’ve made up, but I hope I don’t have too many projects that hang around unfinished for long.
I had all my “fancy floss” on rings and hanging in Addie’s closet so I moved all that to the sewing room closet.
It will be nice to have the charts, the fabric and the floss all in the same general area. The linen and the floss will be behind closed doors so that will keep Boots and light away from it. Progress . . slow but sure!

AHA! S Hooks to hook the floss rings on the shelves- briliant! I hadn’t thought of that and I have mine hooked right into the wire shelf with just the floss ring. I’m going to have to order some more S hooks – that will be so much easier to get them in and out of the closet.

I have been struggling on how to store my fancy floss, I wish I had a closet available that looks great. I have a plastic rolling cart to store my fabric, and so far I haven’t totally filled it, but I can see that happening sometime in the future. Then I may move to bins like yours and put them on my bookcase next to my stitching chair,
