I have several boxes of pictures. Addie loves to go through them and she doesn’t want me getting rid of any of them. Last night, I found several loose pictures in a box and had to sit down and go through all of them.
It was Chad’s first birthday and on the day of the big party, he fell and cut his had. Bad/horrible parents.
Goodness . . look at that house! Pink window facings and pink countertop – more like raspberry but still. And the wall paper! And the phone on the wall. Things have certainly changed in about 35 years.
That was the purple Victorian we built in Lake Charles and it looked like an old house. Many people thought we had moved it in and redone it but it was brand new. I spent countless hours going through Victorian Homes magazine getting ideas.
I wonder what the inside of that house looks like today. We moved into it in April, 1988 and only lived there two years. That was probably the one house I hated most to leave. It’s in my parents’ subdivision so when I go by there, I always pass by and look at it from the outside.

Those houses we live in sure hold lots of memories. Our previous house is where our kids mostly remember living, and the woman who bought it has NOT taken care of it at all. The house before that is where my husband grew up (family farm) but the house was torn down last year. The young couple living there built a new one to replace that big old crumbling house. But it was sad to see it gone last time we drove by.

Love spending time looking at the old pictures and bringing back all the memories.

What a cutie! My kids had the same high chair…Fisher Price was the way to go back then! We had our first house built, it was a small cape and I loved it. The people we sold it to let it get run down and it went into foreclosure. It’s been through many owners and someone picked it up about 2 years ago and rehabbed it it, painted everything gray and put it back on the market for about $100k more than we paid for it in 1985. We just laughed. It sold at that price too, even though it was way over the market value for the area! The funny thing was the real estate ad said it was built in 1987…nope, I lived in it in 1985! Someone didn’t do their homework!
