Yesterday we were meeting our friends at Olive Garden but we wanted to do a bit of shopping at Sam’s Club since it basically shares a parking lot with Olive Garden so we got there early and did our shopping but we were both hungry. We each got carts, and headed to difference sides of the store. By the time we met up, we both had carts full – mostly food and beverage. Vince had two cases of beer and I had a big box with individual bags of Cheeze-Its. I had a container of already made chicken salad. I also had a 5 or 6 pound container of animal crackers. I love those things. I had a bag of plums, hoping they’ll be good since Addie will be here this weekend and she loves plums.
Vince had four or five kinds of cheese . . I don’t even remember what we had but we had a lot of foods we would not have purchased had we not been hungry. We know better!
One of the things we picked up – two containers of sushi. They had people there making containers as fast as they could so they must sell a lot of it. On these miserably hot days, it’s nice to just have a cold snack for dinner. That’s what we did last night. We had both ordered soup and salad at Olive Garden and though we weren’t starving, we each ate a couple of pieces of sushi and will finish it today.
The only thing I got that wasn’t a food item was this for Addie.
She loves Baby Yoda. I sent Nicole a picture and asked if she thought Addie would like it and she said YES!! I told her it will be part of her birthday gift (August) but in July, Addie and I are taking a road trip and I’ll give it to her to use then. I also got four or five books for her to work on when we’re taking our road trip. She has been learning cursive writing, just by looking at it on the computer and I bought a book that teaches kids cursive. I bought a drawing book, one of the books where you find the hidden picture. I told Vince I’m going to tape them up in brown paper sacks – one book per sack. I’ll set the alarm on my phone to go off every couple of hours (and probably scare me half to death) and when the alarm goes off, she can grab another bag, open it and work on it for a couple of hours – til the next alarm goes off and she gets to open another bag. That should keep her busy without her begging to start on the next book 5 minutes after starting one.

That sounds like a fun road trip! I love your bag idea.

When my son was little (about 20 years ago), I found free cursive writing practice worksheets online. Many educational sites will come up and all you have to do is download and print.

We did print a few but this is more like a workbook with pages and pages. Letters first, then words, then sentences to write all in cursive.

She will have a skill many of her contemporaries will lack (so I hear).
I just heard of a school district that removed the clocks from the classrooms. What will people use instead of clockwise?
That brown bag idea is ingenious! What a fun solution to boredom.
