The heat index has been right at 100, just above and just below all afternoon. 5:10 p.m. and it’s 99 (heat index) now. It is miserable.
This has been a busy few days for us, especially since we rarely leave the house but we went to Branson on Wednesday and met Marlene, met Julie and Shirley yesterday in Joplin and today . . it’s been non-stop all day.
I had a couple of things to do this morning. I just got back home and Vince left. He had an appointment with a new cardiologist. He never liked the one much that he had in Brownwood. Just before we left, we got word that his cardiologist there was leaving and he needed to find another one but he said he’d wait til he got here. His PCP recommended this new guy and Vince came home saying he was probably the best doctor he’s ever had. On a later trip to town, Vince was telling me how nice the new hospital is (it opened 2015 as a replacement for the one destroyed in the tornado). Vince said “I think we moved to a great place!” Do you know how happy that makes me to hear that? I was never sure he’d be happy here and I’m so glad he seems to like most everything about this area.
Addie was coming here this weekend. I’m not sure if it’s been three or four weekends that we haven’t had her so I’m very happy she’s here. She has her little summer enrichment program at school every weekday in June til noon. Chad and Nicole were both off today so they picked her up and came here. We all went and ate Mexican. Then they went to Academy to get Addie’s cheerleading shoes and another pair of tennis shoes, we took our own car because we needed to run to that end of town for a couple of things. Once they got Addie’s shoes, we met them at Academy and brought her home with us. Chad and Nicole wanted to go to a couple of flea markets, then to Aldi so they’ll go on home and we’ll have Addie.
Hopefully no one gets hungry tonight because I’m not planning on cooking! I am planning to stitch til time for bed – except once the sun goes down a bit, I have to do some watering outside.

So glad you and Addie are reunited, and Vince is doctor happy. I think we heal better when we are.

I couldn’t be happier for you the way things have worked out. Other than the physical move it doesn’t sound like there’s been a down side to coming back to MO. All of the smaller things seem to have fallen into place, and I’m glad Vince is settling in nicely.
