Big Red House won’t be “fully finished” til the frame arrives, but the stitching is done and that means I finished the June Cross Stitch Camp project with plenty of time to spare. I kinda surprised myself. It wasn’t huge – finished at about 7.25″ x 5.25″ but there were a good many stitches in it (for a small piece) and more color changes than I realized.
I finished it on the 15th but hadn’t taken the time to trim it, serge the edges and base the line where I want it to wrap around the foamcore. Got that done today. Measured it carefully. Ordered the frame.
The frame is 2-3/8″ wide. Sometimes I like a wider frame on a small piece; sometimes I like a narrower frame. I think this frame goes nicely. The mahogany frame with a black rope lip (their description) I think will bring out the red in the house and the greenish black writing and tree. I’m so excited to have this one finished and ready to frame.
I have filled in all the color change info on the Projects Page.

Judy it looks beautiful! I noticed another one you posted the other day that had the names of some of my way back great greats grandparents on the Mayflower. That is two I would love to make but I have never done any cross-stitch. I am so tempted.

Lovely. The frame looks like a really good match — the rope lip echos the wavy border.

Judy, are you going to put your initials and year date on the project?
