It seems very weird to be living close enough to Branson that we can run over for a day trip.
Some of you may know Marlene Bush. She has a blog, Stitching by the Lake, but she hasn’t updated that in a while and she also has a floss tube, and she regularly posts new videos.
She and I have been internet friends for years, she thinks over 20 years, but we had never met. They were going to be in Branson for a few days and she asked if Vince and I would like to come over and spend some time together. Of course!
This morning we drove over, met them at Cracker Barrel and had breakfast. Then we told our husbands to go find something to do because Marlene and I were going to Cecilia’s Samplers and Quilts & Quilts.
It was wonderful meeting Marlene after all these years. We could have talked for days! She’s been cross stitching longer than I have so I asked her a ton of questions and got great advice and links to several things I need!
I didn’t buy much at the quilt shop. I ended up with three wool applique kits, though two of them aren’t really applique. They’re a snowman and Christmas tree ornament kit that I thought Addie might enjoy making. The third kit has six or eight round snowman appliques and you string them together like garland for Christmas. I’m thinking I can make those and hang on the mantle. I bought a pattern for a tunic type top for myself and a unicorn and kitty tape measure for Addie. She always loves those kind of things. I think that’s all I bought there.
The cross stitch shop . . that deserves a post all its own! 🙂

You should think about doing your own floss tube videos. I would watch every one for sure.

There are many reasons why I probably will never do them. First, I have no idea how to edit and upload them and Vince has no interest in that. Second, I don’t get enough finished so I’d never have much to show since I really need to stop buying stuff. Third, I would have to put on makeup and a bra and look presentable! 🙂

How fun that you finally met after 20 years! Marlene is one of my favorite flosstubers.

Please ask Marlene to go back and post on her blog again! I miss her posts. I’m not into cross stitching – been there, done that, but loved to read her blog as well as yours.

I’ll ask!
