Happy Flag Day! I didn’t even know it was Flag Day til Jeremy called last night and said he was bringing us a treat.
There were more and they were all whole cookies til we munched on them. Look – even the plate is appropriate for the holiday. It makes me feel bad that I use leftover Christmas plates all year! 🙂
They are the sweetest people. Hardly a day goes by that I don’t wonder how we got so lucky to buy their house and be their friends.
Angie makes me want to do better with keeping up with all the little special days.

The only reason I remember it’s flag day, (other than all the flags lining the streets in front of businesses on my way to work) is that I have a cousin whose birthday is today. I always thought it was cool that she was born on flag day. I remembered yesterday evening to switch out my spring wreaths on the doors to flags. Those will stay up until the end of August when I will switch to autumn.

Ah the Flag Day weekends of my youth – Flag Day originated in Waubeka, Wisconsin – an unincorporated little town where my Granny lived and my Aunt still does. There is always a big parade and all kinds of fun stuff going on all day so all my cousins would gather at Granny’s right across the street from the firehouse/park area where food booths and games were set up and parade went right in front. My Aunt – in her mid 80’s – finally retired from parade organizing in the last year or two but still helps out. Great memories.

When I saw that it started in WI, I wondered if you were familiar with it. Guess the answer is YES! 🙂
I love good/great memories!
