Another weekend without Addie. 🙁 I think this is the third or fourth weekend she hasn’t been here. I miss that girl but want her to come when she wants to come, not because I beg her to come.
Do we ever stop looking forward to weekend . . even though once we’ve retired, they’re just like weekdays? I guess in the “old days”, I looked forward to weekends because I could sleep late, shop, eat without being on a schedule since I worked Monday – Friday. Now I look forward to weekends because Vince almost will not go out because the stores are busier and there’s more traffic on weekends. I’m almost guaranteed not to have to leave home.
We’re hoping to make a run to Branson soon to meet a friend who has been an internet friend for many, many years . . at least since I lived in MO before. I’m hoping to get to go to Cecilia’s Samplers while there. It’s about the biggest and best cross stitching shop in the area so I’m told. There are good ones in Tulsa and Little Rock and I hope to eventually check them all out.
Yesterday I got out a bunch of charts I’m wanting to make soon and made a huge mess listing all the called for floss and checking to see what I have and what I need. I’m hoping to grab the skeins I need while at Cecilia’s Sampler’s and not have to order anything.
Just not sure how one goes about shopping in a cross stitching shop with the husband attached at the hip. I’m hoping he finds a shop nearby and he’ll say “I’ll meet in back here in an hour.” I’d prefer two hours but he’ll probably prefer half an hour! 🙂

We used to do day trips from Wichita Falls to a great XS shop in DFW. We had lunch on the way south, shopped till we dropped, and even went out for dinner on occasion in the DFW area. They were great trips, we laughed all the way to DFW and back, ate out, and looked at every single sample and thread at the XS shop with no one to hurry us. When you have more XS friends in the area, maybe one of those destinations could be close enough to visit together.

When you go to Tulsa try to make time for the Vintage Sewing Machine Center and Museum. It’s a fantastic place and I am sure that Vince will enjoy it a lot too. Lately the curator has had some health issues so it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure it will be open. Tell him you’re from out of town as he makes an extra effort to accommodate folks who have traveled.

Thanks! Didn’t even know it was there. I’ll do that when we go that way.

When I was I. Tulsa at that shop several years ago there was a Wild Birds in the same shopping center. Spent some time there as well. Interesting place Vince might like.

I think the last one is the best idea! 2 hours may not be enough either! Maybe he will find a tool shop or some other shop to go to while you are in the cross stitch shop!
