Things Kinda Match

I’m just not into decorating. I really never have been. I’ve never cared about having a home that’s all spruced up to look like something in a magazine. I don’t want the furniture to be worn out or horribly mismatched but I guess I’ve just always thought of home as a place to live, to do what we want to do and have no interest in impressing anyone else and since it doesn’t interest me to decorate, I’ve never done it.

When we ordered the blinds for the living room, we did order color samples and I think we made a good choice. Then we decided to order blinds for our room and Vince asked if I wanted to order samples and I said no . . just get the same color we got for the family room. The color looks nice with the oak trim and even though a gray rather than tan might match the current bedroom paint color, who knows . . we could change the bedroom paint to lime green some day. Doubtful but you never know.

You can see the shades there. This pillow is one I had in an extra bedroom in Texas. It really brings out the gold in the blinds. They are a little more gold than tan but the picture looks more than.

Last night as I was stitching on the current project, I looked over and I thought . . this matches too!

This is the photo from 123 Stitch of the fabric I’m using. This color is correct. My photos are a bit washed out. The sun is bright during the day. The linen is almost exactly the color of the shades.

Look at that! It kinda all goes together. I surprised myself – accidentally have things that go well together. The only color in this house besides tans and browns is red and I’m fine with that.

I don’t want to start planning things that match though – too much I want to stitch without thinking about whether it goes with the decor or not.
