Everyone knows how much I love Cajun Redhead Seasoning. Early last week I placed an order for more since I can’t buy it locally. The guy wrote me and said they were out but should have more ready to ship by Thursday (this past Thursday).
Yesterday I had just sat down in the living room and my phone rang. It was in the kitchen so I hobbled in there to get it but they hung up before I was able to answer it.
I saw who had called and called them right back, figuring it was someone calling about my order. Not just “someone” but the Cajun Redhead guy himself!
I felt special – really special! He explained that they were having a hard time getting the cans the spices are packaged in but he was hoping to have more next week. He asked if I wanted a refund or if I wanted to wait. Of course, I wanted to wait – whatever it takes! I explained to him that I have plenty but my stock was getting low so I was making sure I don’t run out.
He was super nice and like so many people from Lake Charles, so easy to talk with. It reminded me of the time I started chatting with the couple in line at a restaurant and they ended up sitting with us at our table for dinner. On the way home, Vince said “How weird was it to run into someone you knew?” because we were over an hour from Lake Charles. I said “I didn’t know them!” He couldn’t believe we were all talking like old friends.
When I hung up from talking to the Cajun Redhead guy (Russell), I told Vince “that was the Cajun Redhead guy”. Vince said “I didn’t know you knew him!” I said “I don’t!” Vince looked puzzled and said “Y’all just talked like you knew each other forever!” Nope. Never met him, never talked to him before.
I wondered if that made Vince think about the people in the restaurant but I didn’t ask.

I love this. I was born and raised in Texas and I always have struck up conversations with strangers. But I lived in other parts of the country where people never did that. I remember moving to another area and going into stores and being so upset because no one would talk to you. It just all depends on where you came from or live.

Vince and I were staying in a cabin in a state park in Georgia once. The cabins were fairly close together and I said something to the people on the porch next door – something like “Sure is a nice day!” I walked inside and heard the man say “You can tell she’s from the south. She talkes to strangers!”

I love that! So true!!!

Why didn’t you suggest that they package the seasoning in bags and send to you. Once you get it,you can repackage into smaller containers to vacuum seal and store.

Because I have at least 10 cans of it here that I haven’t used. I always order when I open my last case. I order 2 cases at a time (24 containers) because I give a good bit of it away. I don’t wait to the last minute to order anything.
I even ordered a bit early this time (because I know I have several cans still packed) because I wanted to get my order in ahead of prime hurricane season since the business is in Lake Charles.

I noticed on the website that there are three different spices. Do you buy the original blend?
Judy Laquidara says
Yes. I love that one. I have bought the wild game for Chad but I don’t know if he ever said anything about it. I’ve never tried the “bold” version.

I just went to their web site. For a $3.95 can they charge $21.95 for shipping. OUCH!
Judy Laquidara says
That’s why I order 24 cans at a time. The shipping is not much more.

A brother-in-law and his wife moved to Shreveport a year ago. They tell me people are very friendly, kind and helpful! There are a few unusual things they have encountered!! We are use to kind and helpful, friendly can be in varying degrees here! A friend of mine says I could make rocks talk! I like friendly and meeting people.
